Should America Drill in Protected Waters? Should Gay Marriage Be Banned?
Though the pro's of this would include a increase in state revenues and the lowering of gas prices, i personally don't think we need to do this and shouldn't do this unless we look at the long picture. We have enough oil around us to generate our economy for another 60 years. This could still be in my life time and to prevent a future crisis we must expand our energy horizons and spend money on new inventive ideas for creating energy. Other countries that have surpluses of oil should also be contacted and due to our hostile past with some of these main oil holders, new communications and diplomatic action should take place to create new economic ties with these countries.
Should Gay Marriage be Banned:
Gay marriage is a very touchy subject in our society. It involves all types people with different opinions. It is mostly a conflict from a religious stand point, but only to those that are religious. This is a large problem for the homosexual couple financially. With out a legal marriage document , certain liberties may not be allowed for the couple. These liberties can hurt the couple especially of the problems dealing with health care and home ownership. Though it may be a large controversy to allow gay marriage, it would be an important step to allow certain liberties to gay couples. This would fulfill part of the void, while keeping the opposition at rest.
