I am exploring portraiture. I am interested in this because I began taking pictures of light, and as I was attempting to do that I became more interested in capturing a moment, which resulted in taking pictures of people.
I took the first photograph, and you can see silhouettes of two girls on the beach at sunset. I know that this was taken in Dominican Republic during November and these two girls are named Sofia and Nora. My interpretation of this photograph is that a silhouette can show a lot and also leave a lot for the audience to discover.
It has been said that one image is worth a thousand words. This could be true about this photograph because it could be describing a relationship or an experience. It reflects my theme in that it shows people in a creative way.
One thing that I know about people is that no two human beings are the same.. One thing that I wonder about similarities in humans is how everyone is connected. This makes me think of showing people connecting or as individuals.
The second image was created by Peri Comart and I found it at http://www.flickr.com/photos/pericomart/2514981804/ . In this image, I see a woman standing somewhere against an orange sky. My interpretation of this image is that it was taken somewhere pretty bare.
The second image relates to my photograph because it also shows a silhouette but it only has one woman and has a completely different feel. As I look at this and other images, my next image will have different feelings and have interesting backgrounds. If I were to look up some information about my theme/topic, I would like to know more about tips on taking pictures of people.
Since you are reading this post, I would like to ask you what makes a portrait interesting.
