Snow patrol drummer breaks Arm

Im learning more about drumming right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is the fact of how drummers need two arms. As I was reading in my Google Reader, a blog post, "Snow Patrol Drummer Breaks Arm",http://www.aversion.com/news/news_article.cfm?news_id=7980,January 24, 2007, caught my attention because  he broke his arm, and then he cant drum. The quote i chose here basically says that now they are using a different drumemr. I think it sucks because they should stick to their drummer, and maybe he should only use one arm. It makes me wonder if a band like Snow Patrol could use a man with just one hand like Def Leppard.
