Special, yet uncomplicated

Oct 6, 2014

My name derives from a passage in the Bible about a boy who was born holding his twin brother’s heel. The name originally comes from the Latin name lacobus which means “may God protect.” I was named after my great grandfather who had Jacob as his last name.

I personally like my name. Growing up and even now there have been many other Jacob’s in my school. I will always have a common bond with these people and I have become good friends with many of them. Another reason I like my name is its normality, nobody ever has trouble pronouncing or spelling my name. In fact it’s so normal it was the number one name when I born, unbeknownst to my parents. My parents wanted me to have a special yet uncomplicated name. Unfortunately many other parents had the same idea.
