Spli Second
Secret Service Agent Sean King is haunted by the events that took place on September 26, 1996. He was in charge of watching GOP candidate Clyde Ritter with his life and then there's the "ding"of the elevator. He turns away for a slight moment and his life is changed forever. Ritter is shot down by Arnold Ramsey a professor at atticus College. King then reacts and kills Ramsey. Fast forward eight years and Agent Michelle Maxwell is in the same position. She must guard GOP candidate John Bruno, but instead he's kidnapped. Soon Maxwell and King's stories are connected by that man Arnold Ramsey or is there someone else behind all this? They go on the hunt for a mass killer through Virginia and soon people begin to be bludgeoned around King and it's only a matter of time before him and Maxwell wonder will they be next? After betrayal the two find themselves in a deadly game of cat in mouse at the scene of the crime all those years ago-Bowlington, North Carolina. only to find out the really villian is Sidney Morse- Ritter's manager all those year's back. King's past comes back to eat him alive. Morse wants revenge and in the end Maxwell and King escape with their lives.
One thing that I learned from this book is that you never truly understand the whole story until you have all the pieces of the puzzle and you can find a way to piece them all together. Maxwell and King would have never found out the killer was Sidney Morse unless they went through these two cases thoroughly and really dug deep into the past. It also shows that if you're patient things will start to come. This series of events took a long time for the two agents to figure out, but in the end they found out and they conquered.
I would absolutely recommend this book because it's fast-paced and is always keeping you on the edge of your seat. After every page I bet you you'll be wondering what's going to come next? What's the next clue they're going to find and who's this person going on a mass killing spree? Once you pick this book up you're not going to want to put it down.
