Tea Cakes story is that he was a womanizer before Janie or maybe still a womanizer behind Janie’s back. One quote for Tea Cake’s story is that “ he will pay well but he will pay two dollars for the ugly girls to leave.” Seen from the quote it is believable that he is an womanizer. After reading further through the book the story for Tea Cake is not what I predicted. Tea cake becomes more aggressive and hits Janie. Which is changing his character  to an aggressive type which is changing the story around.

Tea Cake might become aggressive later on, because we don’t know much about him , but that is most likely what happens to Janie. Janie thinks that Tea Cake will be the one the chosen for her. Janie falls in love too fast and she should take it slow.

This book is particularly preoccupied with human doubt upon situation. This still an important issue in our society right now because in society people just feel the need to doubt because it seems hard to trust anyone. In a world that is only involved in business and prosperous time, people have to move on with their lives and, not trust anything people say, because they have to move on and be on top of the dome.

“ He waved his hand towards the cane field and hurried away. Janie's never thought at all. She just acted on feelings. She rushed into the cane and about the fifth row she found tea cake and Nunkie struggling. She was on them before either knew.”

What Zora Neale Hurston gives us here is Janie has trusting issue, but that is what you would have when you went through so many husbands. Most of this story is about not trusting people. That is also seen in society now, because everyone had to move forward and use everything and anything as a stepping stone. Another quote from chapter 13 that shows how Janie feels about Tea Cake.

“Dont need tuh ast me where ah been al dis time cause it mah all day job tuh tell yuh”
“Tea Cake ah”
“Good Lawd Janie whut you doing setting on de floor?”

This shows that Janie wants to know what happen to Tea Cake making her not trust Tea Cake. Showing the side of Janie that is more worried about her relationship with her husband. Just like all her other husband, her trust level is low because it was very hard to keep all her relationship. This shows change in the character back to its original form.

“Then Tea Cake Took to popping in at the kitchen door at odd hours. Between breakfast and dinner sometimes.  Then often around two o’clock he’d come home and tease and wrestle with her for a half hour and slip on back to work. So one day she asked him about it.”

This shows that Janie is wondering what her man is doing. It does not show change it just strength her character for who she is. This quote is very interesting way to look at the character. Later she changes because of the things that happen to her.

Their relationship will take a turn for the worst. It seem like a good couple and it was very moving slow. Soon it changes over the chapter because she becomes doubtful of Tea Cake. Being in the situations that she cant trust men by themselves. So her relationship is going to change even more after long chapters.
