"Do Your Teachers Use Technology Well?"

The technology I use in school is very diverse. In every class I have a projector. 5 of my teachers have interactive whiteboards. A couple of my teachers have websites that they regularly update. However, there are some teachers who stick to the basics, using a chalkboard and written notes. I think that amount of technology efficiently used is directly correlated to the age of the teacher. My older teachers tend to use less technology than the younger ones. The one exception is my English teacher, who isn't my youngest teacher, but utilizes technology the most. I think technology helps keep me focused on the material. When we are taking a straight block period of notes off a chalkboard, it is hard to focus and gets boring. However when a teacher is letting us interact through the internet, showing us pictures and videos, and using the computer to break things up, I feel like I can concentrate longer. I wish that my teachers who don't use as much technology would adapt to the times and use all of the sources available, especially videos on the internet and websites to keep us organized.

Tech or no tech?

EAzad, I'm interested in how you describe the differences in learning between classes. If the chalk board classes broke up the note-taking with other paper-and-pencil or project-based activities, would that be okay, too, or is there something about the technology that draws you in?

All the best,
