Tech 10 Birthday Game Project: Carmen M.
Right now i have decided that i'm going to create a game using Gamestar Mechanic, it's something that my audience as well as others would prefer to play. I can make the game look like something that my brother likes or represents him. If i end up changing my mind, itll be to create a gameboard instead. The program Scratch is complicated for me to use.
Title of Game: A Day in the Life of Tony Baloney
Audience: The audience for my game will be my brother. He's currently 12, so i'm going to try to make a game appropriate for his age level or younger. There wont be anything offensive. This game will best suite children ages 12 and under.
Type of Game: Another alternative i have for this game is to make a game using Gamestar Mechanic, its going to be a virtual game as well.
Description of the Game space:It's going to be a game that has three levels or more i have not yet decided. Since its a game created using Game Star Mechanic i'm going to have include multiple levels that reflect my brothers preference in videogames.
Description of the Components: Since its on Gamestar mechanic, im going to have to create a whole different game related to my audience, my brother. My brother is a HUGE game fan and this program can satisfy that detail of him.
Description of the Goal: The goal of the game is to complete all levels and win the whole game. Each level will be harder and harder though.
Description of Core Mechanics: The player is the sprite of "tony baloney", but he'll be represented by the sprites the program offers.
Description of the Rules: The player named "Tony" simply does as instructed on the screen. Theres nothing else to do except dodging the enemy. It'll be more of Tony Baloneys journey.
An explanation of how the game elements aim to satisfy the Design Specification:
The game space for this proposal is one made using Game Star Mechanic another choice we have for this project.
The components are components the game online offers.
The goal is a fair and not impossible one to achieve. This game is now for any player that would be interested in this kind of game.

Today I worked on actually
Today I worked on actually making the game. The program i used as i had stated i would, was gamestar mechanic. So far i have not encountered any difficulties in the creation of the game. Today i completed 2 levels, my goal is to make 7 levels each in creasing in difficulty and as the task is, represent my brother in one way.
Good update. You have all
Good update. You have all the essential elements. Please change the title of the post to what I asked of everyone.
Today I worked on 4 more
Today I worked on 4 more levels of my brothers birthday game. I've been trying to make them more difficult as the player advances levels. The levels may look more challenging but appearences are deceiving. I was able to beat them myself, which worried me a bit because i'm not a game expert. However this is just a draft for now, latr on I'm going to edit them and make them a bit harder. Below is a screenshot of the third level of my game.
I'm finally done with the
I'm finally done with the Birthday Game. In total i made 9 levels, some very simple others more complex. I had my brother, the audience of this game, test my final level of the game which was the level i couldnt beat. He played it and he beat it after a few tries. I was planning on modifying it since i figured my brother couldnt beat it, but when he did i left it as it was. It shouldnt take long to beat the entire game which bumed me out, but i think its interesting. I think i did a pretty good job considering its my first official game and not just a practice. I think this game reflects my brother in the things i incorporated. Time limit, because my brother is fast in video games and things he enjoys. I used things he would enjoy using. I also made this game's elements like other games he use to play which i figured might bring him back memories. Overall i had a good time creating this game. Below is a screenshot of the final level, with all edges unbounded, and very short time limit.
Final Evaluation I had my
Final Evaluation
I had my brother test the final game and i also had Rubayeth test the game today.
1)How interesting was the game?
Rubayeth: The game was interesting to play. I thought the levels were creative and interesting. I like the change in settings and background/
2)Did you enjoy the game?
Rubayeth: I did enjoy the game. However, i did find it to be short despite the number of levels there were.
3)How easy was it to beat?
Rubayeth: I found the game to be easy to beat. Again, even though there was a great number of levels, they were not challenging.
4)What do you recommned on improving?
Rubayeth: I recommend on making the game more challenging. It would be great for the player to feel the eagerness and want to defeat the game. This game lacked this elements although it was fun to play because it was relatively easy.
My younger brother did not find it that hard to defeat the whole game either, or atleast the last level which was supose to be the hardest level of the game. So i would definitely have to improve how challenging it is. I do admit this was something i was having trouble with. I think this is because i was still sort of exploring the gamestar mechanic tools. I did try to make it challeniging but i was also experiencing problems with the elements of the levels disappearing. I think if i ever have to do this again i would come up with a better produtct. I did have fun making the game though.
