Teen pregnancy
Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been “Teen Pregnancy”. I remember my guidance counselor saying “ always use protection “, but what if some teens don't want to use protection and they want to take it to the next level, would it be right for them? Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that having sex without a condom is bad but being pregnant is worst. From what I have heard, teenagers trouble through many problems and one of them is teen pregnancy. For example, I heard that this unique topic may bring many crisis resulting to fear and maybe shame and specially stress of how to confirming it to your parents. Now that's just what I've seen in an essay over the Internet, it may or may not be true.
One thing that I know for sure about Teen Pregnancy is that its stressful. Now I've studied my share of Religion, and many religion don't allow teen pregnancy Personally, it's funny to me how the females parents reaction is worse that the male parents reaction. Well it is a big thing for the female because she is going to be the one in the pain and more stress.
Teen Pregnancy was not always a major deal in the past but as years pass teens kind of get foolish of not using protection and the rates raised almost 50 %. This is very stressful because its not just affecting two lives but its affecting your parents and the child in between.
Being that I didn't have a lot of background information on Teen Pregnancy, I chose to do some research on the topic. As I searched for blogs and news articles on Google, I came across this one article www.teenpregnancy.com This article provided a lot of information and opinions on Teen Pregnancy. Some people felt that pregnancy was nothing but stress, in fact some even went in denial and ignored the fact that “she” was pregnant. Abortion was one of the options for females but only because their parents did not approve. This statement didn't really surprise me all that much, but it did make me feel sad and worried. I felt that way because i am a girl myself and god forbid if anything like that happened to me i would just rather just give up on life .
In another article, “tackling teen pregnancy “ there was this one statement that made me shake my head in disappointment. It was: ”Unplanned pregnancy is a major health concern for adolescents. One third of American women become pregnant before age 20, and 80% of these pregnancies are untended”. This is so surprising, because this is only from new york city and from 2005 - 2006 and i just realised that teens are not able to control themselves.which is so sad.
All of this makes me think that what would happen in the next years, i hope the teens start making smart choices and think about what they do and what will be the next step. If teenagers do decide to take it to the next step make sure your companion stay beside you.

Dear Pinki, I liked your
Dear Pinki,
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “This is very stressful because its not just affecting two lives but its affecting your parents and the child in between.” As I read this, I felt that my mindset on teen pregnancy is double-sided. In other words, teenage pregnancy is wrong, unless teenagers are able to care for the baby and support it. Unfortunately, teenagers do not hold the ability nor age to do so, which makes me think of how immature the action of teenage pregnancy is.
Another sentence that I found confusing was: “Abortion was one of the options for females but only because their parents did not approve.” I didn’t get a clear message of what you were trying to say, but I do ask if you can clarify. What I did understand from your post is that teenagers do not have the option to abortion because of their parents. We live in a time, where sex is not something sacred as it would’ve been years ago. Teenagers should understand the consequences to teenage pregnancy and that it is no laughing matter because it can lead to a destroyed life.
Your post reminds me of national conflicts. Right now the U.S. has so many infrastructural problems, ranging from economy to education. I point out education because the U.S. does not only home the highest percentage of teen pregnancies around the world and the most obese people in the world, but Americans are lagging in education. In my opinion, little change is being done to primary and secondary education. Education is a key importance to create professionals and show the world that the U.S. is not fading in the background. What we need is something Obama said one of his speeches; Americans need a “sputnik” moment.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because you seem very interested in this subject and you analyze the situation if you were in a pregnant teen’s shoes.
