Their Eyes are reading chapter 13,14,15
On chapter 13 of the book Their Eyes are Watching God, I think that Tea Cake just robbed her money and not coming back or if he is coming back then just coming back to steal more money. Maybe he had a reason to steal it but the fact is that Tea Cake gave Janie false love is the truth. It reminds me of a Japanese show where a man asked a women in her hand in marriage and asked her to move with him just to steal her money. I think Janie is in denial and doesn’t learn from her mistakes. Even after the first night where he stole her money, she still believes that he didn’t steal it and he’s going to come back. Janie is a naive person that needs to learn her mistakes and the darkness of the world.
On chapter 14, Janie learns to use a gun and becomes a good sharpshooter. Over time she starts working a farm where they grew beans, and later on canes. She started to where overalls after this, which is unusual because she always wore dresses. She thought about how people would treat her if she looked so under classed like this. So as change she changed her hairstyle which made people react more differently rather then teasing her.
On chapter 15, Janie figures out Tea Cake was cheating on her and tells it to Tea Cake himself. Tea Cake doesn’t admit to the fact that he was cheating on her and tries to change the subject. Janie should really learn from her mistakes and rob all of Tea Cakes money, and leave him for a greater good.
