Their Eyes Are Watching God ; Chapters 1-3
There
are many things that make women different from men. Not only do our
body parts make us different, but our mentality, emotions and feelings
make us different. The way we think and feel about certain things, make
us different from each other. When asked this question, many people are
quick to say body parts, when there’s really more to it.
Based on
Chapters 1 and 2, Zora Neale Hurston thinks that men pursue different
dreams other than women . Zora also thinks that women are straight
forward in what they want. She believes that they will go through
anything just to accomplish whatever it is that they really want.
I
agree with Zora, but not entirely. Lots of men and women pursue the
exact same dreams. I do somewhat agree with the way she feels about
women, but I also think that men will go through just the same amount
as a women would to go though what they would like to accomplish.
Although men and women are different in many ways, they are also
similar in many ways.
The last sentence in chapter 3 is telling us that
Janie no longer believe that love comes with marriage. I think that in
her finding this out she has matured and this had finally made her into
a women.
