Reading chapters 13-15 in Their Eyes Were Watching God I have noticed a major change in how Janie was in the beginning of the book. Janie departs from eatonville with Tea Cake and they get married in Jacksonville. Tea Cake woke up early and borrowed 200 dollars from Janie. When Janie woke up tea cake was gone and when she looked for her money it was gone. normally janie isthe type of person who can move on from a guy if she has to, but this time we see that she waits the entire day for him come back this shows a major change in janie, and her waiting pays off when he shows up and pays her back the next day.

"Tea Cake, you'se uh mess! Can't do 'thout me dat lil time"

T'ain't no lil time. it's near 'bout all day

So the very next morning Janie got ready to pick beans along with Tea Cake."

Janie once said she would never work in the fields and this right here shows me that she is willing to change things she once said she would never do.

another thing that stood out to me was in chapter 15

"Janie learned what it was like to feel jealous." This is important because up until now no one ever got in the way of what Janie wanted. when she confronts tea cake about nunkie's flirting and he says that nothing is going on between them. Janie believes him and they laugh about the situation the next morning.

This book is better than i thought it would be and i want to keep reading to find more about what happens in it
