Trayvon Martin - Race Shouldn't be Reason for Suspicion

While I have no real opinion on the subject of being racially profiled I do believe it is happening and is only just slightly better than it was back in the day. People every day treat others differently due to their race and it seems from all the things we were told that it’s clear that they are treated unfairly by the cops. In the article “For Trayvon and Emmett: My "Walking While Black" stories” Donna Summer’s a reporter shares stories about times that she was treated unfairly due to her race and gender. While she cites her being a woman as saving her from some things a few times she was still working a good job and just doing her job yet still was treated differently by the police. I have never once been pulled over by a cop for no reason but she lists several different times where the Police pulled her over without much suspicion and when they realized that they had made a mistake since she wasn’t what they were expecting her to be, all of them tucked their tales and tried to talk her out of writing about what happened. Clearly they know they were in the wrong and hopefully sooner or later these type of things will not be an issue. Race shouldn’t be a decider in a crime and it shouldn’t be reason for suspicion.
