Treatment of Sex Offenders

My research topic is the treatment of sex offenders. I’m interested in this topic because the other day I looked up how many sex offenders lived around my area, and I was amazed on how many showed up. I wanted to know how they got treated while they were in jail and what was the process of it. So far I already knew what they had to register themselves as sex offenders. I also found out that they get special therapy, but I want to know what do the councillors say to help them. I think sex offenders should be given special therapy to help them realize what they did was wrong and how they can improve on being a better person.

I’ve done a lot of research on my topic about sex offenders’ treatment. I found out that the majority of sex offenders admit to what they have done versus people who don’t admit what they have done. I found this really interesting because I would think there would be more people not to admit it, so they won’t be in jail. Something that I also found interesting was the U.S wasn’t considering having registered sex offenders until a case in Washington occured. I’ve learned that sex offenders get treated based on their age and degree of sex assualt. I hope to find out the sex offenders point of view.

Finding reliable sources for this topic wasn’t what I expected. I was hoping to find articles on the very first page on Google Scholar, but I had to read a lot of articles to get what I wanted. Doing a research paper takes a lot of work, dedication, and TIME. I’ve realized that rushing through a research paper isn’t the best way to go. I’m trying to my best to make this a good paper. I can’t wait until I give in this paper. It would take a lot of weight off my shoulders. I would feel like I’ve accomplished something that I’ve worked so hard on. It’s kind of a good feeling.
