Two Quotes on Topic: Death

I find these quotes interesting because they either show a bad side to life or some way about death that mainly what people cause.
The quotes could change my mind about this topic since the quotes were hard to find and mostly unrelated to what I had expected.
These two quotes are similar in one way, they both find death in a bad way. The first quote saying "a spike in the number of deaths" and the other "It's scary, it's sad".
Several ways they are the different is that one states that life is good even when death exists and the other says that death is crazy and man made. The quote from NPR finds death sad and then ends with it worth living and the quote from googlenews sees two bad side from drugs, the overdose and the number of deaths.

Death controlled by us?

I was surprised how death was caused by drugs , something that seemed insufficient before. I never thought that death could spike up just like that because of drugs. I knew that drugs were very bad for us, but I didnt know that they could end up killing so many people. This is one way that death is controlled by us, because its our choice if we want to get into something as stupid as that. I dislike the idea that drugs are used, because many people , sometimes even innocents , can die from them. This was a very interesting post, I like it very much, because it explores death thats controlled by our hand. Thanks for posting =D
