United States Postal Service, No More?
Today, Thursday, February 23, the United States Postal Service announced that starting in late May, early June, 35,000 jobs will be taken out of the work force, and 223 postal service plants will be closed down. According to CNN, this would save the postal service $2.1 billion this year. The main reason this is occuring is because the lack of first class mail. Personally, I blame the technological age for this, because everyone has been sending messages via email and online. They sais that not all workers will lose their jobs, but may be offered a job further away, or in other states. To me, this is a large impact on our economic troubles, because of the lack of money flow going in and out from consumers trying to make a living. Once we get these people losing their jobs some money to spend, our economy will be a little more stable, but as of right now, look forward to a drastic drop in the economy in late May, early June.

The Mail
This is really interesting. I had heard that they were also going to not deliver mail on Saturdays and only during the week. Do you think there will ever be a point in time where there is no postal service at all? when we order goods on line we get it through UPS but we will receive all mail online? Do you think there is another way that they could save money and not cut back on so many jobs?
