Upon this nine paires of eyes turned black ,nine sets of fangs descended ,nine vampires tore into there helpless prey

The slave master calmly pulled the barn doors closed to stifle the noises of death, and I ran into the night my face wet with tears .Disgusted with myself for being so helpless. Sickened by what I had seen .But more than anything sickened by the truth taking shape in my mind .A truth that I had been to blind to see before .'' (Page 114)

     It was said that Abraham Lincoln was set on a mission to free all slaves from this torture and so from then on he decided to make a change one way or another. I love how the author made everything this event so graphic and detailed .
