Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been The US Economy. I remember someone I know talking about how the dollar is going to collapse and stuff and that the economy is going to fail and there will be martial law in the United States but I personally think this is bogus nevertheless I wanted to research it more. I know that many people feel that the economy is in bad shape and I wonder how bad is it?

One thing that I know for sure about the US Economy is that it is the largest economy in the world. Now I've studied my share of Economy of the United States and even tough it may have suffered a recession recently it is still the greatest economical power in the world by far in almost every term. Personally its funny to me how people get paranoid about how the dollar is going to collapse and there is going to be the end of the world.

The Economy of the United States has been the worlds largest economy and the worlds largest manufacturer representing 19% of the worlds manufacturing since 1944. Its nominal GDP was estimated to be $14.3 trillions in 2009 approximately a quarter of nominal global GDP. The US dollar holds about 60% of world reserves, as compared to its top competitor the euro which controls about 24%. The US is by far the most heavily invested-into country in the world, with foreign investments made in the US measuring almost $2.4 trillion which is more than twice of any other country. The US is also by far the largest investor in the world, with US investments in foreign countries totaling over $3.3 trillion, which is almost twice of that of any other country. So the possibility of the American dollar failing is crazy besides the fact that The United States public debt is in an excess of $13 trillion and continues to grow at a rate of $5.48 billion each day by direct calculation between Jan 31, 2010 and August 31, 2010. The United states is ranked fourth down from the first in 2008-2009 due to economic crisis in the global competitiveness report.  The country is one of the worlds largest and most influential financial markets home to major stocks and commodities exchanges like NASDAQ , NYSE< AMEX, CME and PHXL. I really think that looking at charts the US economy has had its ups and downs but mainly is going up steadily and I don't think its going to fail anytime soon.

Being that I didn't have allot of background information on the United States economy. I chose to do some research on the topic were I came across this article from which i took my information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_United_States. This article provided a lot of information and very interesting facts which i never knew about. This really says everything you need to know straight forward.

All this makes ,e think that the U.S economy is mainly going up as it has always been and not crashing down like other people except it to do. Its just stagnating at the current time and that's all there is to it.
Very interesting picture representing how the banks kept lending to everyone taking so many risks even loaning to people without searching to see if that person is even alive!! and that's what led to the crash in 2008.

 Dear RVlas:

I enjoyed your post, "U.S. Economy," because it was very interesting and brought up a really good point about the U.S. economy. I understand your opinion and I fully support because it makes plenty of sense. Since the U.S. Economy has started suffering, I immediately thought that it was just an obstacle that occurs all the time. I truly believe that the economy will recover.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: " Personally its funny to me how people get paranoid about how the dollar is going to collapse and there is going to be the end of the world." I think this is very true because if you take a look back at the U.S. economy, it has always suffered. For example, during the late 1800s the U.S. economy suffered, again in the 1930s, then in 1970s, and now in the 2000s. Each time the U.S. economy suffered, it recovered and got back on its way to becoming much more powerful.

Another sentence that I liked was: "The US dollar holds about 60% of world reserves, as compared to its top competitor the euro which controls about 24%. " This stood out for me because I never knew this. Actually, it makes me glad that the U.S. dollar is that powerful, it shows and expresses a lot. I cannot say I am patriotic to the U.S. because I was not born here, but I do believe that the U.S. has been a nation of prosperity and freedom even with its flaws.

I do highly agree with you that the meaning of the picture is. One reason I say this is because I’ve read about and the U.S. has the opportunity to learn from this experience. Another reason I agree with you is because I read the article you posted as a link and it made sense in regards to the picture.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because you bring up very interesting discussions. I really enjoyed your article and it makes me think that we can hold an entire conversation about this topic. I hope that your posts include topics like this because “U.S. Economy” was very engaging.

Dear Raul:

I have also been interested in the U.S economy. I do think that I am one of those people that think the economy will crash. Prices rising, that must mean something.. right?

One thing you said that stood out to me was " The country is one of the worlds largest and most influential financial markets home to major stocks and commodities exchanges like NASDAQ , NYSE< AMEX, CME and PHXL".
I didn't know about the country. It's interesting to see that the government is always involved in some kind of investment. But it also does worry me. At any moment, the stock market can crash. We can lose millions of dollars. But, it also has a bright side. The stock can just boom up and we can have millions of dollars.

Another thing you said that stood out for me was "how the banks kept lending to everyone taking so many risks even loaning to people without searching to see if that person is even alive".
I do agree with you on this. Banks loan money to people and they know it's to much for a person to pay back. But then again, people are greedy when it comes down to money. They THINK they can pay back.. but little do they know... it's to much for someone to pay back. And that's why a lot of people are in debt.

This gave me a lot of information to do my paper! Thanks (:

Dear Raul:

I am pleased by your post, "U.S. Economy," because not a lot of people are interested in this topic. Currently, I am doing research on the U.S economy.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "The United States public debt is in an excess of $13 trillion and continues to grow at a rate of $5.48 billion each day by direct calculation between Jan 31, 2010 and August 31, 2010." I think this is great because not every American citizen is aware of how much money their country owes.

Your post reminds me of something that happened to me. One time, I decided to borrow money from my sister. $20 to be exact. I told her I was going to pay her back $10 extra in about a week because at the time I had a job. I lost my job 4 days later and I wasn't able to pay my sister back. So she increased it by $1 for every day I didn't pay her.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I am interested in learning more about the U.S economy.

economy, crisis, affecting our communtiy.

Dear :

I am interested with your post..., "U.S economy", because...the way this crisis has us now has affected us good and bad to the point that we as the people seem confused where we need a leader or someone who can help us through this crisis but for now we have to help each other.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "Personally its funny to me how people get paranoid about how the dollar is going to collapse and there is going to be the end of the world." I think this is funny because people are to worried about the dollar bill instead of worrying about how to survive and instead of working together as a whole and to unite with the community we are worried about what we are gonna wear when the world ends me personally would like to make it far in life but achieving goals that money cant fulfill for me but it sucks because it doesn't work like that...

Another sentence that I liked was: "I really think that looking at charts the US economy has had its ups and downs but mainly is going up steadily and I don't think its going to fail anytime soon." This stood out for me because...there's a system that works on the economy that works in the recession i don't really remember the persons name but i'm gonna research and do a post on it and how this can help us out the economic crisis where if the prices go up we buy more and when the money is to much items or what ever it is you buy prices go down.

Your post...reminds me of something that happened to me. One time...i was in school in economics class and how its gone down the kid was like that the world is going to end but the teacher told him about things that can get us out but after that every body after class was going on how this is really bad and they don't know what to do.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because...i am going on like i said before on a post on how this crisis can be averted or fixed because we as a community can do it together or at least do something about it also it inspired me to go back and find out the persons name and in full detail how this economic theory works.

dear raul

I am very pleased with your post because i wanted to know more about why things are falling apart and exactly why things are happening the way they are.

one sentence you wrote that stood out for me is because looking at other countries they don't have as much as we have we are established as one of the richest countries there is so how is it that we are failing?

another sentence that i seen was this stood out to because i think the government is just telling the people there failing when they really gaining.

thanks for your writing. i really enjoyed reading it and look forward to seeing you post again.

It really helped me.

I am very pleased with you research. Because just like you I am also doing research on the economy. But I am more focused won the slope ( supply and demand. It caught my attention only because I never realized that supply and demand can be based on many thing in the economy.

One thing that stood out to me that you said was "I remember someone I know talking about how the dollar is going to collapse and stuff and that the economy is going to fail" Every one says this and most believes it. I never understood it But I do know that the economy can be bad but it would never fail or end.

Another thing was "even tough it may have suffered a recession recently it is still the greatest economic power in the world by far in almost every term." Not a lot of people knows this, and going back to my other my other interest ion what you said the economy will never fail. That's just my opinion anyway.

thank you for what you have written here. It really helped me with my project of my own. I hope to see more of what you think about the economy and your response to what I wrote you.
Thank you.
