Historical New York Times: This database was really useful in finding information from over 40 years ago. I was able to find an article from September 9, 1969 which was about president Nixon asking Mexican officials to help secure the border from illegal drugs entering the United States. This article will definitely help me answer my question about the evolution of drug smuggling methods. It was a really good find.

Newsbank: This database wasn’t very useful for my topic. I wasn’t able to find anything specific on drug smuggling, but I did find something on the drug trade in general. It was way to general and didn’t focus on drug smuggling methods, or the drug cartels in Mexico.
Utah Digital Newspapers: This database has been the worse one so far. I typed “drug smuggling” into the search bar and got 260 hits. The only problem is that it doesn’t say the title of the article, only the newspaper it came from. This would make it so i have to open up each individual file and see if any information is useful for me. I definitely don’t have the time to get information from this website.
World Book Online: This database had zero information on a very broad topic. The only practical thing that popped up for my results was an article about Mexico, but had nothing in it that I could see about drug smuggling. I definitely wont be using this database to do research.

I could definitely see how this is a very rough topic to find information on, maybe because it is not a proud subject in the united states...but that is just a hunch. I do have a suggestion of watching the movie "Blow," it is quite interesting to see the drug smuggling methods with the drug cocaine. Good luck my friend and look forward to reading about the information you have found within this topic.
