Video Game:My Personal Project

In the 10th grade, I am going to create a personal project in school. The project is going to about creating an video game on the WIndows System so I have more fun in my life.

I was inspired to do this because I realy wanted to exercise my imagination by creating an actual world that shows some of the things I think of. Unfortunately, most of the topics these days have been used dry by other video game corporations so I will have to make something that may not be pretty original. I still hope that I might be able to make an exciting game full of fun.

A video game may be the perfect thing for me to exercise my imagination and the extent of how long my mind can extend itself. I will have to research on how to create one, sketch out the characters and scenery, make a script for the dialogue, make a draft of the vdeo game, correct any bugs in the system, see if I like it, see if my helpers (who wish to be unnamed) like it, and test the game on Apple before publishing it. By doing this, I can learn how to do video game programming which is the toughest of all computer programming methods.

I have been reading a book that instructs you on how to actually crate a game. It is full of programming codes and is very specific on how to do things like manipulating sprites to walk and turn and how they would even look like.

I finished reading Game programming for beginners: Third Edition and I learned a lot on how to create a game. I have learned processing codes for certain games and how to build the background for your game. I also learned how to type codes in order to have the characters talk.

I have been reading more on the second book on adver-gaming as it is called and have progressed pretty far into the book. The book informs me of how the games that corporations make go from being simple to becoming a game that is kind of complex or challenging.

I just finished reading Advergaming Developer's Guide and I learned more about how to make my video game. I learned some ways of using Flash to design a good game and I also have aquired some programming codes and ideas for my topic.

I really like this topic a lot. I am also interested in games, but do not have the patience to learn to make one. I heard it takes a lot of time, and energy to sit and come up with codes that would launch the game, and make it work. I hope it all works for you and that you will succeed.
Good Luck.

I agree, most video game

I agree, most video game ideas have been used dry and it will be hard to come up with an original idea but I am sure you will think of something.  Like somebody else had said I too dont have the patience to create a complete video game but I hope the game will go well and im sure it will be fun.

I have started on a new book called the Missing Manual for Designing Electronic Programs. I have ot gone that far into the book so I do not have much to talk about.

I have been continuing to read The Missing Manual for more information to be able to create the video game. Lately I have noticed I am behind in my progress so I have begun to think how the game is actually like.

I hope that you accomplish

I hope that you accomplish your goal and create a video game. I wonder how long its going to take you and how many levels you're going to have. I'd love to play your game that you made.

I like the topic that you've chosen I hope you can actually make the game. It is going to be pretty hard to create a game, but i hope you figure out how to create one. Good luck.

Nice idea dude. You should have people try it out not only you. Just a suggestion. Good luck with all the programing that you have to do.

I have not been able to do a lot of reading seeing how there has been a lot of things going on this week like family business and the tons of "End of the Year" Homework. Still, I have been able to squeeze in a tiny bit of reading.
