Water Wars

The major problem that is affecting out community is the loss of water supply. In the world there is only so much water in the world. “Water is a non renewable rescuer.” That is right once we run out of water there is nothing else left for us to do for drinking water.

Now I know that 73.3 percent of the plant earth is water. But most of that water is salt water or to pollution to drink. If trend continue then the world will start fighting over clean water and I hope in my life time that never happens. Only if we act now and fast we can stop these water crises.

Now I know there are a lot of people who say I’m already doing my part what more do u want me to do? Well the answer to that is that you can convince other people to help with this cause. Even if u just turns off the water well brushing your teeth u can turn off the water. If u look with what’s going on Switzerland the place there they get 80 percent of their water a glacier has lost over 40 percent of its body mass in the past 14 years.

If u looks more locally u can see the pollution in the water. If u go down to flushing Meadow Park and to the lake u can see a layer of carp floating on the water. I know personally I don’t even want to touch that water. It just looks bad. If u go to the Hudson River there was nuclear waste being dumped in the river for over 10 years it’s so messed up there is no fish left swimming in the river. They where planning on building a man made beach in Manhattan next to the Hudson River but I bet if u took test samples of the water it would be so dirty that no one would even want to swim in it even. I also bet there is a lot of oil in the river to from all the ships found up and down to Albany.

I hope that we can change our ways to make a better world. I know that I am going to change my ways because I don’t want to have to kill my neighbor just so I can have 3 oz of water. If worst comes to worst I will strap myself down and fight for my water. But there are also experiments that are being done to save water.

There are many experiments being tried in the way of trying to turn non drinkable water into drinkable water. Also there are many inventions like filters and pills to purified water. If u ever goes to Boston they have a plant that can change sea water into drinking water. One invention that I like the best is the use of hydrogen cars. The output when it combines with the oxygen is pure water. If only we could bottle that.

Buy why we should try to change out water when we can just get it from a different place. NASA just recently found water on the moon. There is also water on the polar ice caps of mars. They even found water on one of the moons of Saturn. There is a gazer that shots water over 20 miles into space. No one knows how that water is made or where it comes from. All we know is that there is water there. So why don’t we find ways to get the water from the moon, Saturn, or even mars.

Back to inventions that can make water pure. I don’t know any that can make water fully drinkable. There is so much crap, like nicotine, arsenic, and other harms full chemicals. There is also a mass about of oil and toxic, radioactive waste. How do we get rid of that stuff? There is no way to get rid of it. You can’t boil it away cant burn it. I can’t think of a way to get rid of that stuff. Not only are there toxic stuff in the water but there is fish and other living organisms. So if we but chemicals into the water to get rid of these chemicals we could kill all the fish and the other sea life.

I do not believe that I my life time we will ever find a way to clean this water. It’s just so dam dirty. Pulse well people are trying to find ways to get rid of this stuff people are dumping more and more stuff into the water. Just look at the Toyota purse the car gets 49 mpg, but what happens when the battery dies. There is no way to dispose of the battery. There are so many chemicals that you can’t get rid of it. I believe where just going to start lunching our waste into outer space. Even thought there thus solutions there is no quick fix to the water problem.

The only fix to this problem is to be able to make small changes over a long time. I know there are people out there who tack water saving to an extreme but u doesn’t need to do that to be able to save water.

If everyone in the United States just took 2 min less in the shower or didn’t leave the water running well they where brushing their teeth. We could be able to save billions and billions of gallons of water. Also if we were able to fix the entire leak in the water system that is across the United States we would be able to save even more water.

If u just want to look at and the advancements on how to save water there are lots of thoughts but they’re not going to save all the water we waste. I think the best way to save water is through education. I believe that if we were able to know how to be able to control the amount of water we waste we be able to save more water. Like if u were able to know just how much water u waste and where u wasted it u would be able to cut down on your consumption.
Also if where would stop dumping into the ocean the ocean tempters wouldn’t raise and we wouldn’t be having the polar ice caps melting. There are just so many little things that u can do just to be able to cut your water usage in to half, if not more.

Currently scientists are working on quantum material that means that with the press of a button u could make anything u wants. So if u wanted to make water u would just be able to tack a piece of mass, create water from nothing.

There are many new ideologies or politics we can begin to implement today. I believe that the ideology that would have the most is the government. The government controls all the emissions standards. Whoever controls the government controls the emissions standards.

There have been books, bills, and other forms of ideologies that have been set forth. But most of them get turned done on congress. I bet that most of congress doesn’t care about the world the mostly care about how much money they can make. So the first thing is first elect officials that actually care about the environment. But I think that is not going to happen soon.

Water is one of the most critical resources, it is even more important than oil. In India there lots of new, ideologies and politics being implemented. India has rerouted many rivers into the main port just to be able to keep it from drying up. In Mexico City, Mexico, they are working on redoing there pipes cause an estimated 40% of their water from leaking pipes. The Jordan River is the main supply of water for Israel, and the river which is one of the biggest in the world is running out of water.

The government needs to stand up at work on conserving water. In the United States alone we waste billions if not trillions or gallons of water. And I believe that the governed should control this. If not the government then we the people should address this issue, by electing government officials who want to help with this cause of the water shortage.

The people should tack more of a stand and should tack into consideration on election people who care more about the environment, and the world water problems. I believe that Obama should tack a stand on the water shortage. If he doesn’t then we should try to convince him to do something about it. Not only should Obama do something but congress, i.e. the House of Representatives and the senate should help with this water crisis.

There are many new ideologies or politics that we can begin to implement today. And it all starts with the government. People like president Obama the New York City Mayer Bloomberg. And it shouldn’t be only being them it should be every day people like you and me. The time is now and we have to stop it before there is no more water.

Taking a stand

Dear Monishen,

I really agree with your post, "Water Wars," because I too am wondering what will happen with our non-renewable resources, such as water, if we do not "take a stand, " as you say, and make a commitment to try to find an alternative, or solution to replenish and replace these resources. I really like thatbyou are asking people to take a stand by participating in the election process, and voting for leaders who take a stand, as well.

Once sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: " If not the government, then we the people should address this issue by electing government officials who want to help with this cause...". I think this is critical because as citizens, we can make a difference by exercising our right to vote and participate in our government. It is important to realize that even if it seems hopeless, or even if it seems impossible, individuals can make a difference, when their collective voices are heard as one.

Another sentence that made me think was "I hope that we can change our ways to make a better world."  I really liked the examples you gave of experiments that are currently being piloted to try to turn non- drinking water into clean drinking water.

I do not agree that in your lifetime you will not see a way to clean water. I am hopeful that like you, through education and by making small changes, we can make a difference.

Thank you so much for sharing your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next.
