OCCUPY WALL STREET
Characters
Zachary Bell, is a 22 year-old who supports the Occupy Wall Street movement. He believes that the world can be changed. He is not trying to side with anybody, he just wants to solve the problem each and every way possible. He would be found in the left side of the spectrum.
Ted Glick, is a 63 year-old activist who supports Occupy Wall Street. He believes in power to the people. He reminisces about the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street movement last year and the current “May Day” march.
Pat Henry, is a 25 year-old conservative who does not support the Occupy Wall Street Movement. He believes that they are people who are looking for complication with the government. He would be found on the right side of the spectrum.
Barry Rubin, is a 61 year-old conservative who does not support Occupy Wall Street Movement. He feels no pity for the movement. He believes that the people of Occupy Wall Street are doing too much and it can ruin Obama’s organization. He would be found in the right side of the political spectrum.
Setting: May 1, 2012 at Zuccotti Park. Ted is glad to see so many people protesting with Occupy Wall Street. This is important to everyone that is a part of the protest. Everyone has their own opinion.
BARRY
[Looking around, thinking out loud] I don’t understand what more do these people want? Just get up and go. Give up!
TED
[Looks over at Barry grillin him.] So you’re not a OWS supporter I see. Why not support what we stand for? What if it was the other way around and we did not want to support what you believe in?
BARRY
Of Course I don’t support it! I think Obama and Romney should not be supporting this either. This movement is just a ridiculous way for the radicals-claiming to be liberals to give government more power. What do you think?
TED
[Pulls his hair from all the anger] Disagree! I believe in power for the people. The OWS needs to help the government to protect them from stingy people like yourself. If Obama supports the movement it can change society and make a huge difference.
BARRY
You have got to be kidding me!
ZACHARY
You two just sound ridiculous! Just respect each others opinion. To be honest I think Obama and Romney should just stay out of it.
TED
But if they stay out of it and don’t say anything the OWS people will think they do not care. Like this Barry dude.
BARRY
Why should the government take their side? They are breaking rules!
ZACHARY
I think they should stay out of it because if there's too many disagreements around its foundation.
TED
So how is staying out of it helping?
ZACHARY
It will help leaders focus better.
BARRY
If Obama supports it then let him be. No one will vote for him then.
ZACHARY
Not everyone sees it like that though.
TED
All I know is i’m voting for Obama. No if’s, and’s or but’s!
PAT
All I have to say is I agree with Barry! Hands down.
TED
This is important to us “Mr.Pat!”
PAT
Im just tired and fed up with the OWS protesters. They are not rich! And they can’t be. They want the government to grant them wishes that can’t be done.
BARRY
Thank you! Couldnt have said it better!
ZACHARY
Do you think the movement should be supported or not?
PAT
I think it should not be supported. Romney should use that against Obama that he is supporting the OWS so he can win more votes!
BARRY
AGREE!
TED
So, with that being said. Anything else anybody needs to say about the whole situation?
ZACHARY
No, thats about it. Thank you, have a good day.
BARRY
Thank you! bye, bye.
PAT
Same.
