West Of Kabul East of new York
I just read the first part of West Of Kabul East of New York by Tamin Ansay. So far this book seems pretty interesting. Whats interesting about it is that it has alot of new excited vocbulary words. And the words create a sence of imagry. I just hope it dosent get too boring because this is actually the last book im planning to read.
One line that stood out for me was" When i said yes he was tken abacck: he thought Afghanistan was just an expression, like ultima Thule, meaning "off the map". It kind of suprise me when i first read this. it surpprised me because I thought Afghan was like all ove the media for a long long time. But I guess it depends on the time period. But nowoutube before he im tihnking about it as I write and before 911 i really have'nt heard of Afghanistn in my life.
This remind of sometimes when I ask my friends if they heard a certain song and they say no. and then like 3 weeks to 3 months later they ask me if I heard te same song I asked them about. I dont know why that happens but It kind of pisses me off. Like when soulja boy first came out. He was first on youtube before he became famous but I thought he was popular on youtube. So i ask some of my friends about it and they say they never heard about soulja boy. A couple of months later i heard his song...what was his song called agian..umm..oh yea..crank dat soulja boy. It was played out to me when it first came out because I used to watch him on youtube everyday and plus I thought he was corny.
Well neways Im looking forward to reading the rest of the book. Not really but i'll get to it when I can. I dont know whats going to happen next.
