The hot boiled seafood of Louisiana is to die for. As a youngster, a major component during family get-togethers had to be the boiled seafood. Boiled seafood is important to my family. It’s something we, as a family, get to do as a whole. The seafood of Louisiana is definitely something I do not want to lose. I believe our Crawfish Boils is one of the things that actually kept my family together. I know sometimes I take the seafood of Louisiana for granted because I see so much of it. I guess I think most times that it will always be around.

I finally realized that seafood is a major part of my culture because of the oil spill. The oil spill in the Gulf caused the prices of seafood to rise majorly. I remember when prices on crawfish use to be as low as two dollars a pound, but now the prices sky rocket at almost five dollars a pound. Seafood has become a scarce resource in Louisiana. The society should continue to clean up the Gulf to help preserve the life of the water. It would be a state of depression for the state of Louisiana.
