In What Ways Do I Learn Best?

My top two intelligences are Bodily Kinesthetic and Logical-Mathematical.  When I use the Logical-Mathematical intelligence, I recognize patterns and work well with numbers.  In a class like geometry, I use this intelligence to perform calculations and find logical relations between things to prove something.  For example, when I am doing proofs, I am able to use logical reasoning and find utilize certain knowledge we learned such as theorems, to prove something.  When I use Bodily Kinesthetic Intelligence, I am more likely to use physical motions to to learn.  I use my body and my sense of touch to learn more about the world.  I particularly love sports and many other physical activities.  For example, I mainly play tennis and swim.  Those are sports I am particularly good at.  I consider myself athletic even though I have a small frame.  In addition, in class, I can't stay still for too long.  Then, I will feel uncomfortable and I have to move around.  I also like doing hands on projects.  In science, I love doing experiments and completing labs.  I think they are fun and the best way to learn for me.

The intelligence I have the most trouble with is Musical intelligence.  For some reason, I just can't understand the notes and rhythm in Music.  I just don't get what each notes represent.  For homework we had to write a poem and assign a rhythm with notes accompanying it.  I found that hard because I didn't get where to put the whole, quarter, eighth, and rests notes.  I was so confused.  I especially can't perform or do work best with music playing in the background.  I just can't concentrate!  It disrupts my learning experience.  I require total peace and quiet to concentrate on my work.  I usually can't do some work in school so I bring it home where I know I will find find peace and quiet.

Dear 12tranb :

I enjoyed reading your post, "In What Ways Do I Learn Best?," because it thoroughly explained your strength and weaknesses. I also got to know you better throughout this reading. It was pretty interesting, too.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "In addition, in class, I can't stay still for too long. Then, I will feel uncomfortable and I have to move around." I thought this was interesting because I thought you enjoyed sitting in class and like not moving around, but I guess I was wrong.

Another sentence that I thought was interesting was: "The intelligence I have the most trouble with is Musical intelligence. For some reason, I just can't understand the notes and rhythm in Music." This stood out for me because my best intelligence is musical and I thought it was interesting to see someone that was total opposite of me.

Your post reminds me of something that happened to me. One time I was doing labs with my friends. It was long and I couldn't sit still for a long period of time so I started moving around and bothering people even though I shouldn't have. Eh.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because it was pretty interesting to learn new things about you and stuff.

Well, I can't be bodily kinestheic. It's one of my lowest intelligences. ><
Such as in lab, I'll always record because the numbers will go through my head and i'll recognize the numbers but I can't perform the lab myself because everything just goes through. I get a list of directions and do them and then go, "okkaaaay....what now? or so what?". I can't get information that way but I think its great how others can.
