whats the big deal
I just read a short story, "An incident" by Lu Hsun and i felt contempt for the story because i thought it was vapid. I did not really see any point in the story. As a matter of fact,it was kind of soporific if you will. All it talks about is a guy who is going somewhere but then gets cut off cause his "taxi" breaks down due to a lady.
One line from "the incident" that stands out for me is "my vitality seemed sapped as i sat there motionless, my mind a blank, until a policeman came out" I think this is amazing because i like the way he described and worded the way he felt. I think that was the only sentence in the story that stuck out for me. I think it really hooks the reader.
Another line that was poignant to me was "suddenly i had a strange feeling. His dusty, retreating figure seemed larger at that instant. Indeed the further he walked, the further he loomed" tuhis stood out for me because again i liked how he described the man. He has a very creative mind in some parts of the story
"The incident" reminds me of something that happened to me. One time me and my mom were driving and everything is going fine until this guy decides to walk out into oncoming traffic. We almost hit him and so we stopped for awhile. My mom was obviously peeved by this and let out some profanities. So yeah that is how i relate.
I would not like to read more stories by Lu hsun because like i said,i ddint feel much of a spark or affectation for the story. Its something that happens all the time so there is really no need to write about it. I irregard this story.
