What's the Point?

Math has been a really difficult class for me this year. Even though it is AP Calculus, I feel like I’m smarter than my grade shows. I think that lack of motivation is probably the main reason for this. I guess it’s just hard to stay motivated in a class that seems pointless. I know that math and science have led to millions of important findings in our world today, but all these discoveries were done by people who are close to geniuses. I just don’t see how the average worker today uses differential equations or logarithmic properties in their day to day life. I think that students today could be so much more productive in class if the teacher were to explain why we need to learn calculus. But as far as I see it, I won’t ever use the information I learned this year outside of the classroom…
