Will the world develop an alternative energy on time?
More than 3/4 of the world runs on oil and fossil fuels. The entire world depends on fossil fuels for their electricity, and the entire world depends on electricity to survive (or most of it, at least). Russia, China, and the Middle East are the main exporters of oil to the rest of them world. Not only are we burning fossil fuels at an enormous rate, we're running low on supply. Because for the last 150-200 years, we have burned fossil fuels for heat and energy, the world's biosphere is in danger of collapse. There are no major alternative energies in development at the time. The alternative energies we have available at the moment all have a critical flaw, and thus are difficult to create on a global scale, one large enough to replace fossil fuels. What we need to do, is develop a viable alternative energy on time, that is cheap, easy to produce, easy to apply, and available all over the world, such as Cellulosic Ethanol. There are major problems blocking the development of new alternative energy technologies however, such as OPEC, Russia, and China. Many people are unaware of, don't think much or, or ignore the environmental problem on our hands at the moment.
If people are not pushed into action to develop a renewable energy, soon it will be too late to start.
