Will the World Really End in 2012?

 Many people believe that the world will come to an end in 2012 because that’s when the Mayan Calendar ends. The bible of course says that it will only wipe out the bad and the good people will live forever. It’s sad and scary to know that the world will come to an end because it’s obvious the world is being harmed each and every day. I don’t really know what we can do to save it. I mean so many people litter and damage without any care. I want to know more about what we can do to save the earth before it gets too late. I feel like a lot more people need to start paying attention to the fact that the world might come to an end.

 I have a lot of fear and curiosity about this topic so I went online and looked up an article. I found one called, “Will the World Really End in 2012?” and it discussed about many people that were preparing for the end because they were sure that when that day comes there will be nothing left. It talked about a guy named Patrick Geryl and how he saved up enough money to live off of and then quit his job. He did all this so that he could have enough time to prepare for the disasters that many fear, will come. Geryl told ABC News, “We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch.” 

I respect Geryl’s opinions and actions and it makes me think of things more serious. I feel like a lot of people are ignoring this topic and don’t really believe in it. It’s very obvious that something is wrong with today’s world and I’m glad to hear that some people actually care. It’s important for people to understand and start acting. It doesn’t hurt to be safe and precautious. If that day ever comes, the people that have taken this topic serious will be the most likely to survive, I hope. It was nice to hear other opinions and feelings because it really made me see a bigger picture.
