Women's sports practicing against men.

Discussion
Apr 3, 2012

Watching Outside The Lines in my hotel room, the topic of discussion was women's sports- especially basketball, practicing against men players. Many coaches were arguing against it, saying that this style of practice will scare away many recruits and that the coaches are teaching their players non•equality between males and females.

I am an athlete, and any chance I get to compete against men- whether it be running, sprinting, pk's, or soccer in general, I love it. Each time I get to go against men, I see it as an opportunity to show my skills as well as utilize the possibility of losing to teach me and push me farther in my sport.

Now, this is just my opinion, and many girls on my team lothe playing against boys or men. We all hate running against our coach to the goose pond because he's a giant.

Many of the coaches against male practice players say that this is not the way to teach and coach. Many of the girls hate it, and there most likely are girls like me that like it! One athlete from Texas A&M said that she loved practicing against the guys because it makes her stronger and she is more comfortable going against girls in her division.

Any athlete has something to say about this, whether you hate it or love it, it teaches you so many things.
