World connection 2.2

Recently  I read pages 104-128 in "catcher in the Rye" by J.D salinger. I am really enthused and am enjoying this part of the book because it seems as thought it is going somewhere. I mean it really seems as if its going somewhere, not like before. Ive said in my past logs that everything is so repetitive and childish in this book but i think there will be less of that now. Ive come to this conclusion because now hes going out with this girl,i mean going out as in just going to the movies with her, but it oculd lead somewhere. This book also relates to the world in alot of ways as well.

One line from this part of the book that stands out for me is "and what was awful was he never said anything you wanted to hear" This reminds me alot about bush and his proposterous policies during the time of his presidency. He hardly said anything america wanted to hear and when he did,they were lies. there was nothing euphamistic or pleasing about his veiws ever. He was the most supercilious guy I have ever heard of. I am so glad he is out of office. I dont want to go on a diatribe so basically,bush was always just talking through his butt and it ruined our country.

Another line that i liked was "it just did not appeal to me and here i walked through the goddamn park and looked forward to it all" This also has another world connection because he said befor he ddint want to do something but then he did it after and it turned out great and this is kind of what went on with Barack obama and his running for president. As he was trying to get to the goal,there were those people who were skeptical of him at first but then when he did get elected and when he started talking about what hes going to do and when he acted real fast and got some incredible things done that has never happened before. Peoples ideas started to change and this was great.

This section of Catcher in the Rye reminds me of something in the news. In one part of this section that i read,holden helped a little girl tighten her skates and then he talked about how nice she was cause she thanked him.This reminds me of Barack Obamas speech yesterday and how he talked about the effect of steroids on the kids. Now Alex rodriquez is taking steroids and so that was a big deal and Obama reflected on that he was talking about how it will have a bad influence on the kids. Another thing he was talking about what using our money to build new schools which will help kids learn.

Whats probably going to happen next is that holden will probably keep up the plans with sally. Like i said before,maybe it will lead somewhere. I just hope he is serious about this and doesnt complain too much because that is what he has benen doing alot.

I am looking forward to reading more of this book because i want to understand what the book is all about. Maybe i will see in the coming chapters.
