Im glad that i came across your post about STD and AIDS rate in the world. i think this subject is looked over or not looked at enough for the epidemics to stop.
STD's are 100% preventable. condoms can always be used to protect yourself. although, in the teenage community condoms are not really a necessity. the most common rumor about condoms that I've heard and the main reason for people not using them is : "they take away all the feeling." to me for women with or without a condom your feeling the same intimacy, so i don't quite get the reason why a female would say such a thing. for men to me while i cant really imagine how it feels to them probably use that excuse because a condom is latex and they might not feel the moisture as much while using a condom.
in other sense the AIDS rate over the pass years are increasing in African American women. although, i think that's because in Africa almost half of the women and children are either born with aids or contracted it through rape. catching a STD is a choice, it is a choice to or not to protect yourself at all times. even the people with the most faithful relationship on the outside can be filled with infidelities on the inside.
thanks for posting i look forward to reading other post from you on your outlook on the present problems we have going on in the world today.
Dear Ashley, I enjoyed your
Dear Ashley,
I enjoyed your post, "Youth Issue on STD’s," because even though teens say they are aware of the danger of contracting STDs some don't always use the knowledge they have. For instance, there’s that one person that says they haven't been with anyone else and actually has but lied just so you’d agree to it; then, that person who knew about STDs trusts the person and puts their life and body in harm.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "While theres cures for most STD's theirs some that are not curable like HIV/AIDS. Having an STD can ruin your life, it can cause long term damages to your body which may effect you in the long run." I think this is valid because sometimes people don't really realize how dangerous and life threatening STDs can be. Even if it is curable, they can be harmful if not taken care of. People think that just because the STD is curable it won't affect them, or that the person they have been with is clean and they can trust them and they won't catch anything. However, not everything goes as planned.
Another sentence that I agreed with was: " If you think you may have contracted an STD, dont wait and get tested. You can get tested at your local Health clinic which is confidential and their to help you through this tough times." This stood out for me because sometimes when you think you may have contracted an STD or know for certain; you may want to hide or are afraid others will judge. If people even have a thought they have contracted an STD they should go to their local clinic because it is better to be aware and protected. And when you go to a clinic you may have some questions you’ve been curious about and want answers and the doctors are more than happy to answer them for you, it's their job.
I do agree with you that STDs are a huge issue with teenagers. One reason I say this is. here are too many adolescents contracting such harmful diseases. Instead of having sex maybe some should take up hobbies, sports,or read a book even. And if that doesn't work then try practicing safe sex by using contraceptives.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because your post was appealing and informative. Also It was well written and very quite interesting.
I think that the issues that
I think that the issues that you bring up in your discussion are very valid and pinpoint on some main issues that are going on with teenagers specifically today. I agree that the best way to protect yourself from getting one of these sexually transmitted diseases is abstinence. It is good to practice safe sex as well, but the best way to go is just to not have sex in the first place. Every teen should know that there is no one pressuring them and it will just be so much better if they wait.
Dear : I am surprised with
Dear:
I am surprised with your post, "Youth issue on STDs," because not many teenagers realized the danger or risk of them and don't notice how easily they can be contracted.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "Having an STD can ruin your life" I think this is true because also besides not noticing the risks and dangers of STDs, some people still think STDs are temporary so you bring that awareness out that they can be treated but are almost always permanent.
I do agree with you that "Even though you stay protected and wear a condom, you still have to be careful because they don't prevent you from ALL of them" One reason I say this is is because yes condoms don't protect you from all STDs, but also you should mention STDs can be transferred through other contact like kissing. One example is like herpes.
Thanks for your writing though, it was interesting.
