EricH at JM, SLC :: Blog :: Two die in China school stabbing

May 17, 2007

A high-school pupil has killed two of his classmates and wounded four more after a stabbing spree in southern China, state media has reported. -BBC News

This article recently caught my attention as it seems that with the increased awareness of global security, school violence is readily the same.  This is coming off of the tragedy at Virginia Tech.  Not only is it troubling that our youth can become so disturbed that they commit mass murders, but that society can allow it to happen.

Keywords: school violence, security, Virginia Tech

  2. I don't agree with you because society doesn't let it happen, it just does, the society is not repsonsible for all the people's needs in the world, and the fact that the person who stabbed the people, needed attention, is not the society's fault.  You can't blame the thinkings of people on the society, because it also depends on how the people grew up, their background, what they go through daily, and what truly affects them.  Also it depends on who is doing it, like a quiet person who gets straight A's you wouldnt expect them or like a person whose in a gang you would, but how do you know the person with the straight A's wont stab people? It's not the society's responsibility to watch over children, and keep them in check. But this post has caught my attention.
