For these 26 things, I walked around downtown Salt Lake.  I think they turned out pretty good, but a few of them I could've done better.

Hiroshi Watanabe
Bruce Davidson
Mitch Epstein
Elliott Erwitt
Helen Levitt

I really like the work of all five of these photographers.  Most of their work is in black & white, but there is some color photos mixed in.  My favorite is Hiroshi Watanabe, a Japanese photographer that works out of California.  My favorite photos of his are his portraits, which are very dramatic.  While I like all of his work, this is probably my favorite photo:

The main page on openphoto.net is very well organized.  The quality of the photos on the site are varied, but overall, they are pretty good.  It is a good resource for royalty free photos, but it can be a little confusing to download the picture.  If you're just looking to link to one, however, it's pretty straightforward.

Walking down the long, green hallway, John Coffey, approaches the room with the electric chair inside (The Green Mile).  Harry Stamper is talking to his daughter for the last time, saying goodbye over a NASA videoconference (Armageddon).  Boobie Miles is sitting on his front porch – leg in a splint – watching trash men pick up the cans from the side of the road (Friday Night Lights).  Imagine watching these intensely emotional scenes without sound - without the carefully selected music of the music director.
Music manipulates the viewer’s emotions, throwing them into an emotional rollercoaster during the course of the movie.  The director of a film employs the meticulous help of music selectors in order to best capture the emotions of the scene.  From writing an original soundtrack to using popular music, a music director can change the entire meaning of a scene just from the type of music he selects.
