Description of Game Space: The game description for this game is that the levels get harder and harder. That makes the game challenging which will make the player feel challenged and will eager the gamer to continue playing the game.

Description of Components: The components of the game are what are created by what’s given by GameStar Mechanic. For instance it’s game space that is the area where the game is build. There are many different options like applying gravity to the field or barriers or having different goals of that level. Making different games using its tool and making up different objectives.

Design Proposal 1:

Title: Heavy Music Madness

Audience: Heavy Metal lovers, 2+ players, ages 10+, any skill level

Type of game: Card Game

Design Proposal for Alternate Designs:

Title: Cloud Nine

Audience:  This game is made for my little brother Lucas. He has a very vibrant personality that involves him being very clueless, and in his own world at many times. One person can play this game at a time, and the age of the person playing could range from a first grader to those who are slightly older than that. The level of the game will be beginner and will be easy to understand. The levels may increase in difficulty for the older, more experienced players.

Type of Game: Computer game- Gamestar Mechanic

Tools and Materials: The only tool needed for this game will be the computer; no other materials/tools will be needed.

Description of the Game Space: In order to portray the personality of a ditzy child, in his own world, the game space will have clouds in the background, an already present image in Gamestar Mechanic (background 24). The space will also have blocks that are clouds as obstacles.

The title of my game is "Playing Soccer". My audience is for all the people who play soccer. The number of players should be for about 22 people. There should be 11 people in each side. So it's basically about to teams playing against each other to see who's the best. This game would be a computer game. Well I'm going to try to make it as a board game. The tools that will need in order to achieve in this game would be to learn how to use the system. Okay, the design of this game would be that there will be playing in a field and a ball in the middle. They have 3 minutes to score on the other team. Obviously the other team has to stop them, it's just like an actual soccer stadium game.

Title of Game:

“Imposing Human Conviction during WWII: Concentration Camps”

Audience:

Joel Lubi – Birthday Present

The game is about how to survive during the concentration camps of WWII based on the actual map of Auschwitz as well as the logical method of survival during that time. It is a game that 2-4 people can play. Appropriate age group is sixteen years or older, with at least some knowledge of the events of the Holocaust and WWII.

Type of Game:

This game will be a board game.

Tools and Materials Used:

Who: Shrima

Age: 15 (friend who's actual birthday is coming up :D)

Competence: Novice

Alternative #1:

Title of Game: The Game of Life: In a Magical School Number of Players: 2+

Type of Game: Board Game Tools/Materials: Dice, construction paper, markers, paper money

Proposal #3(a bit small don’t know how to explain scratch Title- football pong edition Audience-My birthday party recipient Game type-Scratch Tools to create game-using the game program scratch Game space-Games are sctach are created on a x and y plane, and it seems to go on forever, but I will make it a small rectangle Componts-there will be 2 sprites one you control and one where they’re will be some AI, that will do what I program it to do Goal-get 10 points before the AI Core mechanics- the ability that you will need is to predict the what the AI will do and react accordingly, in other words you will need quick reflexes to succed in this game Rules- 1.you cannot go pass the rectange 2. you are not able to move forward just left or right How do the game elements satisfy the design spec- the game itself is created on scratch, and is \ relativly easy to grasp, the game itself will not create any violence, it may take a while but the game can be finished by the 11th. The game itself is easy.

 Chosen Design Proposal:

Title of Game: The Legacy of Music

Audience: The audience of this game is Shery Arce because the game is made about her birthday. Additionally anybody who may be related to her, or knows her as a classmate or even is friends with her is able to play this game. Anybody who has listened to Michael Jackson’s music and is aware of his songs is also recognized as a possible player because they will be able to compete.

Type of game: This is going to be a board game in the form of snakes and ladders.

The title of my game would be: Saving for Dubai. Because my cousin really wants to go there, especially to see the Burj al Arab, the game would be about receiving a trip to Dubai, for his birthday basically. So the first alternative would be a game designed on Gamestar Mechanic. The point of the game would be to collect all points throughout the different levels. The points would represent money of course, representing the savings. But then again, an avatar must avoid enemies, signifying my cousin avoiding to spend money, or even going into debt. Again, the goal of the game is to collect all points without approaching enemies what so ever. The game will consist of only a single player, who will interact with the game components by relating to the message being conveyed – which is to save money. A player must only move around without attacking the enemies, not that there would be any weapons available, and once a player approaches an enemy, he/she must start over from the beginning.

This is my design proposal. I chose this one because it relates to my brother the most and I want to try to use Scratch.

This game will be titled: Omri's Birthday Pong. The Audience of the game is my oldest brother. He is 21 years of age, and is a real gamer. He is very competent when it comes to games. This game will be a computer game. I plan on using Scratch. I will the laptops in school and my personal laptop at home to work on the game. I will also have to use pictures and those can be found using Creative Commons. The game is based, overall, on Pong. This is a historic game that has been remade many, many times. I can download some other versions of pong from Scratch to find some models of hwo to make it.

Computer Game

Title of game: To eat or not to eat; that is the question

Design Proposal #1: Save Nature!

Audience: This game is produced so that people can play as a traveler, going across a map and saving nature on the way. The number of players can be anywhere from 2-4 players, and it is for all ages and any knowledge level.
Type of Game: board game

Tools: Paper, scissors, markers, hard paper, ruler

Description of Game Space: Players shall move across a 40 tile space game to reach the end. Each space will be a square, a total of 40 square tiles.

Description of Components: Players will be moving around characters that will be saving the environment or messing up and having to go back and try again, dice will determine the spaces the character moves and special cards will either make you go back or go forward.

Description of Goal: The goal is to reach the end first and be victorious.

Description of Core Mechanics: Players moving across the board itself by rolling dice.

Description of Rules: Players must play in clockwise order, they all have one turn, and they can only roll once, unless being told so by a space on the game or on a card.

Audience: It would be the people that actually chased Luis with the water throughout the day. That’s because they are main subjects in the event.

Today i played a game called Grow a game. I didnt really enjoy it because it was very complex and annoying. The words we got were food politics, sustainability, and floating. It was challenging but i really didnt ebjoy this experience. I thought that this game was boring. BUt this game also helped out by making you create a game based on these three words. I thought that it was a good experience because of this. This was very helpful because it helped me create a game.

Argument wars is a game where you play a lawyer in famous court cases in history.
The elements of the game include finishing sentences and selecting defenses from a list of random cards. Do these and you will receive the judge's points.
The game allows you to select a side in famous court cases in history using mini games and prior knowledge you have to select the best defense from the list of defenses to get the judge's points in order to win.
The game is won by using knowledge of what you think is the best choice whether you are selecting cards of finishing sentences common sense is very important in order to win.
Someone would want to keep playing because the game is interesting because you can take on famous court cases in history.

I have just recently playing the game "Oligarchy". Oligarchy is a game where you are the CEO of a major oil company whose goal is to deplete the world of all of it's oil deposits by deploying oil wells. There are certain rules, strategies, risks, and goals when it comes to playing this game. It is essential that you keep the oil shareholders in the stock market happy or else you might just get the pink slip (You get fired basically). One of the other rules is that you must try to keep up with the rising demand of oil to be able to make profits, which keeps shareholders happy and fattens up your wallet. Remember that in a game, there are always risks to take. Certain places in the world have very delicate habitats and drilling there may cause unwanted attention from the press or the government. drilling in protected places like Alaska and Argentina would certainly cause people to protest in the drilling areas, stop workers from drilling and even burning down oil wells. in some places, the local government offers assistance against the protestors by means of terrorizing them, hanging them and deploying guards to protect your oil wells.

We will be working in a group of 3: Joel, Moe, Baris.

Our serious issue will be based on war and conflict, while shooter games based on call of duty series will affect our upgraded version of the game.

In this game about McDonalds, you run the show and do everything like a real job. From growing the cows to slaughtering cows to selling the burgers! This game is similar to the game Ayiti, but also different in some ways. For example, both games are similar because in both games, you are trying to make money and survive through the game. It is a bit hard like Ayiti, because you need a strategy, and you easily become bankrupt. I think this game was much easier than Ayiti, because I got passed about 11 or 12 years, while in Ayiti, I hardly survived the first three. In This game is different that Ayiti, because it takes place in a different game plot. You are the president of McDonalds in this game. In Ayiti, you are trying to help run a Hatian family. This game, to me, was all about how you paced yourself. You are always running out of cows and you go bankrupt. I'm surprised that McDonalds has to go through so much to become the number one fast food restaraunt in America!

I have very, very, very, VERY recently played a game called "Obligarthy. It's a pretty good game I must say. it's about the world's addiction for oil and the pollution which are direct results of oil drilling. it's a kinda wacy game, but I like it. it's humerous too and that's what helps make it so likeable. you play as an entrapeunuer who looks for places to drill oil and try to sway over politicians to help too. try to not get fired by your company or you lose. i've allready lost once. try it; it's fun

Today, I played a game called Oiligarchy. I found it at www.molleindustria.org/oiligarchy. I got interested in this game because I have played this game before and I already knew what the game was about.

This game is about the business of drilling for oil in foreign countries. The game shows how drilling for oil negatively affects both the foreign  countries and the United States. You must use the money that you make from drilling for oil to bribe the people in government or "oil" them, so that they pass bills that increase the oil addiction in the U.S. The money that you make must also be used to protect the oil wells in foreign countries. You can bribe the government to go on raids and kill protesters in order to protect them.

Not all games are the same. Some are video games are  played for the relief of stress. Others seem to be designed to challenge the minds of both men and women, young and old alike. While some are played simply for simple fun. Whatever game it is, the goals are always the same: to reach the end. I enjoy playing video games that challenge the mind. I find them to be more fun than action games. But this doesn't mean that I won't enjoy playing a fighting game like Dead or Alive 4. That is actually one of my favorite game.

The Good game, The Bad game, and the Ugly game

I posted three podcasts about different topics: history, basketball, and Chinese. These podcasts are informative and fun to listen to.

Stuff You Missed in History Class

  • This podcast starts off with a jingle and an introduction to the topic being discussed in the podcast as well as the people who are speaking in it. The speakers introduce the topic they are going to discuss by talking about some real life experiences, or things that people know about. The homepage has a playlist of recent podcasts. Next to the playlist, there are brief descriptions of the latest podcasts that have been posted. The homepage also has a link to the blog that relates to the podcast. The topics that are discussed in the podcasts are ones that history classes do not cover. The speakers explain the details and provide extra information about the events they discuss. Some podcasts clear up common misperceptions about certain events.

On December 3rd my principal wrote a memo. She said that an example of a disturbing behavior that I have encountered is "punching or kicking holes in walls." When I read this part of the memo I was sort of surprised at this behavior. I did notice some strange holes on the walls in the stairwells. I did not know that one of the students did that. I only have a couple ideas on trying to fix this behavior. The first idea is completely changing the stairwell walls by adding a material that is more sturdy. The second idea I have is to try to find the person/people creating these holes and putting them in anger management classes when found.
