From getting and giving marker "tattoos" to sitting next to my friend while she got 5 black stars inked in different places on her body, tattoos are something I've always been interested in. I definitely plan on getting one, though I have no idea where or what. However, I know a lot of people (including my mom) who are very disproving of this idea and question why anyone would want to get something permanent on themselves. To be honest, it's mostly just because I can.

I think that tatoos are fine as long as you are smart about what you get and where you put them (so employers can't see them and would still be willing to hire you). I knew a girl who got "BITE ME" on the inside of her lip, even though it's not something that I would get, it was in a place that no one could see, at least she didn't get it on her hand or something.

After viewing Gangland: Biker Wars on the History Channel a few weeks ago, I thought had a greater understanding of what the mark on my wrist meant. I was now branded for life not only by ink, but by the ignorant stares and glares of those people who group "tattooed" with "rebellious, stupid, dangerous, violent, and outlaw." Or was I?
