“I relate to [my mothers’ and friends’] struggles and I aspire to their greatness (“Role Model Data,” 2014). Everyone has a role model… some people may not know it or even admit it, but every individual has someone they admire. We aspire to exhibit the characteristics of an individual, and these role models give us direction in seeking what we want and what we want to become. In order to receive and obtain accurate and genuine information about women's idols, I collected a wide range of data from supportive women and peers in my life.
In Kodak's Top Ten Tips for photography, they say that close ups are important in photography because they get greater detail of the subject. In the photo above I tried to capture that concept. As shown in the photo I like to capture nature raw, without any filters, and the details either close up or zoomed out. I have learned so much about lighting and the importance of your angle in a picture. I can't wait to keep learning as this semester continues.
UPDATE: Paul and I are doing some fundraising for a YouthVoices Summer Camp project for students. As a part of this, we are hoping to put together a short video with some testimonials about the power of YouthVoices and connected learning in general. If you are willing to record your thoughts or perhaps do a short Google Hangout with us to be recorded, please let us know! Thank you.
I'm an educator and writer, and over the past year or so, I've gotten to spend some time with Youth Voices and gotten to know a few of you here.
Recently an event changed my life and my mother’s perspective towards me. It was my school grades. I was glad to find out that I went from being a student who got low grades to actual high grades from 90s and above. Before I came to this great school, Bronx Academy, I used to go to a commonly known school, De Witt Clinton High School.
This picture was taken on my cell phone by combining of three different photos each with a lower, higher, and normal exposure. I used Photomatix to combine them and turn them into a HDR photo. Photomatix is really simple and easy to use, they give you different setting that you can choose from also. Here are some more photos that I used HDR.
