Difficult relationship in Chapters 13, 14 and 15 of Their Eyes Were Watching God
I just finished reading chapter 13, 14, and 15 of Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. What I think about Tea Cake is he's a bad husband because he beats Janie, but he's Janie 3rd husband, and she feels real love for the first time. Janie was worried about Tea Cake's adventure because of Tea Cake's gambling. It shows that Jaine does care for him since she's worried about Tea Cake. The way Janie changes in Chapter 14 is she's starting to wear pants and she also learns how to shoot a gun. I think Janie and Tea Cake's relationship is going to be a little complicated because this is the first time Janie feels real love and she's in love with Tea Cake, but I don't think Tea Cake is so much in love with her. Now she feels how a jealous person feels, and it isn't going to be a good relationship because Tea Cake is already lying to her and it's only the beginning.
