I like to express my emotions clearly. I like to explain how I feel at the time and things that are happening in my life.
I also feel that my writing skills can improve. I have trouble spelling words correctly, but not easy words just complex ones. When I write, I find I don't always put as much time into my work as I should. I am better at writing structured essays, like "Document Based Questions" on history tests and "Critical Lens Essays" on literature tests.
I hope that over this year I will be able to improve my skills as a writer. That is one of my goals for this year.
One major project I had that helped with my writing skills was one in which I had was to write a detailed explanation of a state in the USA. I had picked Louisiana, since I was born there, and I wanted to learn more about it.
First I had to do research on the state I had chosen. Then I had to compile the information I found into essay form. I had a lot of information, so it was not going to be easy. So in order to organize my project I started by giving the basic history of the state. I stated when it was established, how and by whom. After that I explained the geography and climate of the state. And finally, I just added some random facts. Then my project was finally done. Also all my hard work payed off. I got an excellent grade.
