Something I have become interested in learning more about is landscapes. I started to become interested in Ansel Adams because his landscape picture were incredible and I loved the way he used the dark to enhance the pictures quality. So far I have learned that lighting makes a big difference to the picture.

This information is from Ansel Adam's website. The source of this information is Ansel Adams own page and he is putting up for sale his work.. The information that I've been reading is from a sort of store online only on Ansel Adams' pictures.
This topic was about landscapes and it was very interesting. This relates to me and my interests because I am doing animals and farm but in the farm there are many landscapes so that is why I was so interested. One thing that surprised me was the idea that lighting meant so much to the picture expect in this one there was not really any lighting it was black and white. One thing that I wonder about this person's work and life is How does he know if the picture is a good or bad picture?
Ansel Adams was involved with... photos when was taking photos and i reference a lot to his photos when I take a picture to see if my is good .
Being that I didn't have a lot of background information on Ansel Adams, I chose to do some more research. As I searched for another source of information about this person, I came across this additional website the Ansel Adams gallery. This website provided a lot of information and opinions on photography on the environment.
"The world is falling to pieces and all Adams and Weston photographs is rocks and trees" (Ansel Adams). This statement didn't really surprise me all that much, but it did make me feel his pain when his family went from being very rich to being very poor I was very saddened for him. I felt really bad for him that he went poor because he had such a passion for taking pictures. This also helped him in a way because he was able to see his photos in different ways and this enhanced the image of his photos.
In the article, The Ansel Adams Gallery, there was a statement that made me agree with the writer. It was: "Colored and modulated by the great earth gesture" (Ansel Adams) This is so true because The earth always has something new to offer everyday. I believe the earth reacts to everything we do but it reacts differently in the sense that it doesn't speak to you physically. So I believe the earth does have many gestures in reaction to what we do.

Now that I have done this research, it makes me think more about my own work about plants
All of this taught me on how to look for the picture outside the box so to say, and never be satisfied with what I have. I also learned to appreciated everything I have because Ansel had a rough time going through everything like that. Next, with my own work, I hope to enhance the quality of my picture I hope to accomplish this by using the techniques that Ansel used.

I like your olive tree. It
I like your olive tree. It is very ripe. You chose a great picture from Ansel Adams. The mountain cliff looks like a church. I found a church in it. There are very large trees.

Brian,

I think that your picture of your plant [i have no clue what it is] is really nice. I like that the green really sticks out from the dirt in the back. You can really see how rich the green is. I also like the picture by Ansel Adams. It was a good choice.

Dear MatthewB,
I really enjoyed reading through your post, "Comparing myself with Ansel Adams". I think that you have a very strong understanding of Ansel Adams and his work. I myself researched Ansel Adams and I think that your theme absolutely relates to his work. Ansel Adams was an environmentalist who was passionate about the preservation of nature. One sentence you wrote that really stands out for me is: "This statement didn't really surprise me all that much, but it did make me feel his pain when his family went from being very rich to being very poor i was very saddened for him." This is a fact that I didn't come across in my research. I wonder if him being extremely poor relates to his photography. Another line that I really enjoyed was: "All of this taught me on how to look for the picture outside the box so to say, and never be satisfied with what i have." This really relates to my own work because I would like to branch out further. Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because we seem to have really similar themes and ideas. We also share the same goals.
Andrew
You said you were interested
You said you were interested in how lighting affects a photo. Your picture is in color but the one you choose of Ansel Adams work is black and white. Do you think there's a difference between color photos and black and white photos with lighting and their affects on the photo?
Hello Matthew. I like
Hello Matthew. I like that you chose Ansel Adams. I really like his work as well. Although your title is comparing me to Ansel Adams, i don't really see how your work compares to his. He seems to take pictures of whole settings. From looking at your photos, you usually focus on one thing. In this it is just a tree and in your other pictures you just focus on an animal.
