It's mind boggling to know that we know more about the the moon than we know about the depths of the oceans here in our planet. I agree with James' post about how if we can build a space ship and go outer space, we can also build a super-submersible to go explore the extreme depths of the ocean. I think deep sea exploration should be our first priority instead of trying to find life outer space. How can we go search for life in other planets if we don't know much about our whole planet? I remember learning in class that about 70% of the Earth is water. It makes more sense to learn more about life in this very planet before going farther in space. We still don't have a spacecraft that can take astronauts to Mars yet. However, deep sea exploration is much more possible and can be done much sooner with the technology we have now. We explored only 1% of the depths of the ocean. Like James said, deep sea exploration can help us discover many things such as cure to diseases and maybe the origins of our planet. I hope we can learn more about our abysmal ocean. Its really fascinating to find life living in the most extreme conditions.
