My name is Edgar Guaman. I am 16 years old, Jr. years of high school.  I attend the East west school of international studies high school, located in Flushing, NY.  My parents were born in Ecuador, I was born here in Elmhurst, and my little sister was born in Manhattan.  My brother though was born in Ecuador, My oldest brother.  I have not seen him in some time now, but we still get in touch.  In my house I speak Spanish mostly, with my sister I speak English.  But in My school I learn Japanese, which is a foreign language class I take in my high school.  In my spare time I like to play some sports like soccer and volleyball, but sometimes I also hang out with my friends around the city.  Anyway most of my time I spend in school and working on homework and projects.

THE BLACK DOT IN THE WHITE ROOM THAT PLAYS
I'm the black dot that plays in the white room
not asking what and who and why
but I'm always on the top of everything
I do not care for what people say
I am here and I explore
some people may call me weird, and may tell me off
but I walk away and always comes back again
I walk in a dark room and stay there
I'm not in the mood to fear
I run in and listen to noises
yet I walk toward them instead of away
Although I don't have a fear most people don't know
is that I wont tell, but I wont tell so they don't know
But what I fear the most is that thing I love the most
the reason I still am out and never back in
I don't Like to be alone..............and losing everything I have
my fear is being alone

 ONE WHO WONDERS
The rain falls, everybody runs inside
And he is the the only one outside watching the sky
The day goes away and night comes in
People go to sleep but he stares at the sky and wonders
He is not satisfied with just a statement
With an answer
He is always finding new questions
And making more answers
He runs into the forest and finds new ideas
He thinks that life is the place that is greener
He sees a plane as a mystery of its gift to fly
And wonders why we could not be giving that gift for ourselves
When he was 5 he never asked how to ride a bike
Instead he wondered how he could do it
How he could find out without asking
He is always looking in different ways
And is always asking different questions, when he has to
People also wonder sometimes about him
But when he thinks he has found the answer
He does not stop he
Wonders

These poems demonstrate of how I describe myself in present and in Past tense.  In the first poem I wrote about how I though of myself now, and what I think I look like in the world.  I had to pick a unique phrase or something that would represent my name.  So I did, and it was the black dot in the white room that plays.    I picked this name to show that I feel that I am unique, in a good way.  I also think I always goo in a different direction in life sometimes but not necessarily the bad or wrong way, it still takes me to the same destination.  The second Poem I wrote of how i thought of myself when I was younger.  I picked the name one who wonders.  I picked this name because I used to wonder about a lot of things like the sky, the ground, how plants grow.  But not just necessarily something that you can learn, I used to wonder if there was life after death, things that you have to learn on your own.  So anyway these are ways of describing myself to someone else, and who I am in my perspective.
