My sophomore Journey

Discussion by: dormah on Sat, 2012-04-21 17:46 with 0 comments

Maria Robinson once said “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” from my perspective this quote is revealing that nobody can change what they did in the past but anyone could decide to make a better future for their self anytime they want. I can connect to this quote too myself because what I did in the past is something that I can not change and will always be part of my life. But the day I decided to take a new direction for myself, I’m see a better view of life.

Is there one true religion in the world?

Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been is there one true religion? I remember my history teacher talking about how people have different perspective on religion and how to follow it, but at that time I didn’t care about what she was saying because I don’t like history class. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that religion is a choice or is a belief system. From what I have heard, some people do not believe in God or a religion.

The book I am writing about is Search for safety by John Langan. The book is about a boy named Ben that was bullied by his stepdad. He only lived with his mother because his dad left him and his mom.His mother got married to another man His mother thought that he was a nice man but he really wasn't although he beat her and Ben she still wouldn’t do anything about it. Ben’s step dad wanted to get away from ben's aunt who they lived with. She would help them get away from him because she also knew that he beat her sister and her nephew. I think that this book is very interesting.

Why Are Parents Sometimes Overprotective?

Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been why are parents sometimes overprotective? I remember my sisters talking about how sometimes it’s so annoying when your parents are always talking about how they should behave . It wasn’t interesting to me. I didn’t care. Also I was too young. Lately the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that parents are too overprotective and that sometimes they are annoying, but what I think is that they just love us with all their hearts. Now that’s just what I have think , it may or may not be true.

Is Paris better than New York?

Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been about if Paris better than New York? I remember when I was in Paris and my mother was telling me to stay with her in Paris, but since I was going to school in New York I had to come back. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that New York is better than Paris. For example, when I was with my mother she was talking about how she wanted to come to New York so bad because it’s so beautiful. Now that’s just what I’ve heard, it may not be true.
