What A Long Journey it has Been

The end of the school year was very interesting for me. I started to pick up my grades for most of my classes throughout the third and the fourth quarters. I guess it was a little too late for one class because I’m already said to go to summer school for that class but at least I was going into the right direction. As a student this year I feel good about my grades but at the same time I don’t feel that much proud of myself as a student because I know that I could’ve done way better than what I actually did. My grades weren’t as good and as high as my mom expected them to be.

What teens go through

My topic is mainly about how teens become violent, depressed and stressed. What made me interested in this topic was watching the news, and always hearing about a teenager committing a crime or being murdered. I have multiple questions for this topic. One question I have is: What influences kids to act out? This question is the main question I am looking for an answer to because maybe it runs in the family, or watching movies or listening to certain music influences them.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated that, “Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.” In other words when you choose a certain course for your career in life there will always be someone to tell you that you aren’t making the right decision. It’s not a good career and other things.

Why is the dropout rate so high?

A topic that I have always been interested is why students drop out. I want to learn more about this topic because day by day the number of dropouts are increasing.

What I do know about this topic is that students may dropout if they come from bad homes, or because they got caught up in the streets. Other reasons students might drop out is because of bullying and harassment, or simply because they don't want to be there.

Demonic Possession

Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been why and how do people get possessed by demons? I remember my friend talking about it one time, but I didn’t get to learn as much about it because he really wasn’t sure of how it happens. He just went by with what he heard with others.. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that this is scary. When this happens to someone’s child I know they are wondering how did this even happen to their kid in the first place.

Where will We Stand in 2012? Dead or Alive?

Something that I have been interested in learning more about is when the world will come to an end. I remember many of my friends talking about it many times the past few months. All of them saying how the world will come to an end in the year 2012. They would all talk about how we were going to die, and how everything in this world will all disappear, but I didn’t learn more at that time because then again they’re just teenagers. They didn’t really specify the things that were going to happen at that time, and how exactly things would go. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again.

Where would I be without my mother?

From the day I was born my mother has always been there for me. She provides me with food and shelter, and buys me clothes. I don't know where I would be without my mother.

Many kids grow up without a mother by their side, and many kids don't appreciate the things their mother does for them. I appreciate my mother. Whenever I need her she is there supporting me. Growing up with only one parent is rough. My mother plays two roles, and has to do twice the work. She is a sweet, short, loving woman. I care for her deeply and will do anything for her.
