2010 Haiti Earthquake

Recently in English we have been studying the 2010 Haiti earthquake and all the problems it has caused. At first, I thought this was a massive attack because I heard the word earthquake and thought of all the lives that must have been lost. When I heard about theirhealthcare I figured they are going to have a hard time taking cared of all the wounded and injured people, as well as the dead.

One thing that I know for sure about ELA is that sometimes its hard to focus and stay on topic because it can get boring at times, but I just do what I have to do. Now I studied my share of culture I believe that the Haitians are very close to each other and care for each other very much. An example would be an artist namedWyclef jean. Wyclef is not only a artist but he is also a humantarian because he has started a charity for his people and his mother country of Haiti and has raised well over a million dollars. Personally, it`s crazy to me that the U.S owes Haiti billions of dollars and we are now in a recession and money is tight even for us.

Myself as a writer

I see myself as an average writer, somebody who needs more improvement in writing. I`m pretty good when it comes to grammar and spelling, but I have trouble when it comes to essays. I really have trouble with history essays. I can get a topic on historical figures or geography and I just go blank.

If i work more on my writing, perhaps I will eventually get it and write better..When I write, I like to plan it out with some type of chart or something so that I have something to look back on when I am writing.

Back in middle school, around when I was in 8th grade, I had a writing assignment. I had to write an essay on the geography of a place and describe it in detail. I didn't know what to do because it's social studies and I hated that class as well as the essay itself. I had to sit there blank, trying to think of what to write for this essay but nothing came up. I was thinking for a good fifteen or twenty minutes, and finally, I had something to put down rather than nothing at all.
