Lord of the Flies-Connection

Discussion by: charlotteg on Mon, 2010-06-21 21:01 with 0 comments

I can sorta connect to Piggy. I mean he was teased a lot on how he was overweight. In elementary school, I was a little over the average. So people(other students) (no names) made fun of me. Calling me fat and all that. I mean, people calling other people fatty and piggy really mean. So all of you out there who are bullies, listen up and stop it. AND, ask your self if you would like other people doing that to you!

wat started out as a harmless prank might turn out to be a lawsuit.

I recently read an  article about a boy that played what seemed to be a harmless joke and ended up to be something unexpected. This teenage Idaho boy was bored at home. So he made a craigslist naming himself Rick Obelophy. And created a message that said Rick was looking to sell his 4-year-old son for $5,000. The boy wrote, "He doesn't fuss very much but when he does he just screams for hours. I usually just put him in his closet until he stops and that usually works."Obviously this raised red flags. The police in Washington began investigating possible child selling and child abuse crimes. They tracked down the teen's home. He (the boy) claimed it to be a harmless prank. But the police are still debating on wether or not to press charges on the boy.

I do no think it is right that my school makkes us have so many different accounts using our first name and our last name initioal. And have our password be OUR STUDENT ID NUMBER! I mean how hard is it tofid our student id number? Not that hard! And how many people have the name charlotte with the last name initial of g huh? Not even a handful!I really am getting sick of it cause it is leaving way tooo much information! I mean at least on facebook you could check off privacy, on these accounts, i can't ! It is soo annoying

Please Comment and maybe the school will cut down onthe 5 million accounts a week that we have to make!

Digital Literacy

We did a project about digital literacy. We first found information about our topic. Then we wrote a draft of our script. Then we actually made the script on google docs. we  copied and pasted it to xtranormal.com .   We chose the characters and voices. Put in the actions and facial expressions. And voila we had our video. Here  is our link.

WHY?

Discussion by: charlotteg on Sat, 2010-03-20 21:40 with 2 comments

Why?

Why? I am in the 7th grade and yesterday, we had career day at my school. I don't get why everyone expects us to know what we want as a career when we grow up. I mean i know we have to take it into consideration that we have to choose what high school to go to for your profession. But bombarding us with questions and jobs and stress isn't going to help. Granted, if you are in the 8th and 9th grade fine you have to start making decisions. But if you are in 7th grade and below, can't we get some space? I mean we don't have much time to be well a kid anymore. Next year we have to fill out applications for high schools, study for tests, do well on your report card. I mean there is so much to do next year. So why can't our parents just hold off and let us, well breathe. It isn't too long until we go to our first prom, or our first dance, or learn to drive, or even choose our colleges,  heck leave college. So can't we (7th graders) just have time to hang out, go to the movies or just chill out at home watching a movie or playing on the computer or playing videotapes, or even to sleep.

Winter

Winter. What usually comes to mind is snow, cold, white, cold. Yes i know i said it twice, but it was for a reason. Many people think that winter is always just a cold and wet season. I do not disagree, but it is more then that. It is the time of happiness. It is when you have that long and exhausting snow ball fight with your brother, or when you made that huge igloo in your back yard. It is more than a mere memory, it is an on going memory.
