Stress

Discussion by: MHarris on Tue, 2010-03-09 09:41 with 1 comments

Stress is something that affects many people, whether its coming from school or home. Lately I have been stressed out about home problems. This stress has lead to acne. I have been trying my best to get rid of them and it has been working but with ongoing problems at home. I have a feeling that it will be back. Stress not only affects your face but it affects you. It changes you and makes you something that you are not. When I am not stressed out I am happy and joyful, but when i am I'm sad and angry. It feels like my whole system has shut down and I can't move unless someone makes me feel better. When you are stressed you have stressful dreams. Dreams like bad things are going to happen to people that you love. Therapy doesn't help me anymore and things are getting way more difficult. Feels like things aren't going my way. Maybe 2010 just aint my year.

2012: April Fools before April 1st

Remember Y2K everyone went into an uproar because they though that as soon as the ball dropped the world would end. They thought that all of the US missiles would all launch at the same time and we would be doomed. Well people as soon as that ball dropped nothing happened, all you did was put more money into Walmarts hands. People actually got into their cars and went to walmart to stock up because they thought the world would finally fight back. WOW people I thought that you would of learned your lesson but then this 2012 crap came along and everyone going right back into panic mode. All because the Mayan Civiliaztion forgot to finish a calender. I am pretty sure that if they had the chance they would of, but guess what they dont exist anymore. I could understand if they were still around and they didnt finish because their gods told them to stop because thats the year that the World would finally stand up to those that inhabit it but it didn't so therefore 2012 is a joke. If I am presented proof that the world would come to an end by a Rhodes Scholar then I will kinda believe, but until then I don't so watch out people because NOTHING will happen.

Madden 2010 vs Ayiti: The Cost of Life

Madden 2010 is the latest version Of John Madden's long reigning franchise. Madden 2010 is for football lovers, if you haven't played football or watched a football game a day in your life, then you wont like it or you have a hard time adjusting to it. I have been playing Madden since I got my first one which was Madden 2006. There is a lot of things that you can do in the game of Madden, so you can never be bored. The player has the choice to make a superstar, maintain a football franchise, create your own team, create your own player or if you don't feel like doing any of that you can just play a game. I forgot about Madden Moments, this allows you to revisit some of the best football games and change the outcome of them. Creating a Superstar enables you to make a college player and get him into the NFL. He must have success until the end of his career if you want him to make it to the Hall of Fame. Starting off you have to take an IQ test. If you test high, you get picked by the elite teams of the NFL. If you score low, then you get picked by the lower ranked teams. After you take the IQ test you must enter the Draft and hope for the best.

2010 Haiti Earthquake " The Pottery Barn Rule"

Recently in English we've been studying the 2010 Haiti Earthquake. At first, I thought about the many lives that were lost in the earthquake and many more that might still be missing. When I saw a Democracy Now video about the issue, I started to think about how good life is for me and how I can't take it for granted because it can easily be taken away. I know that many people might feel the same way, and others might not care because they think they have seen this before. For example I read a post by a kid that said that the Haitian Earthquake wasn't the worst disaster and he doesn't know why people are caring so much.

Resting Players Good or Bad?

On the Verge of a 16-0 season and history, the Indianapolis Colts played the New York Jets. When given the lead the head coach decided to rest his starters and bring in the back ups. They ended up losing the game and there undefeated season. When looking into the stands you could see a poster that was held by a man, the poster read that an undefeated season meant something to them.

This has brought up a debate on whether coaches should be able to rest their starters even when they want to play. I personally think that if the players want to play they should have the right to play at their own risk. If they want play despite the risk of getting hurt, I think they should. Its there body and if they want to play they should be able to.

The NFL and Concussions

When I was a little kid, the sport of football intrigued me. I would always skip out on important events or responsibilities like homework to watch it. The big hits and the touchdowns were the best part of the game. I would always dream of playing it and when I got my chance I had fun. Now that I am older I am more aware of the injuries that follow with the sport of football. The most common one is the CONCUSSION.

When I first heard of that word I thought of it as a mild headache that you could get over. I never knew the aspect and intensity of it. A Concussion is by far the most worst thing to feel. All though I have never had one, I have heard that it hurts a lot. It also has a lot of consequences if it is not taken seriously. It's basically a damaged nerve that gets re aggravated and can lead to paralysis or death.

Will LeBron James make a great football player?

I am amazed by the Akron Hammer aka the King LeBron James. He is a greatest player is basketball history, I think that he is better then Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Have you ever thought about the way he dominates on the court, he can dominate on the field of football. I think so. This topic have been talked about continously through the sport nation. Could LeBron be as aggressive in a football uniform? What some people might not know is that he was a great high school football player and he actually got some scholarships from colleges to play football for them, but at the end of the day basketball is what he took on.

Eric Mangini the ex New York Jets coach made headlines in the sports world when he made this comment:

With a 3-2 Lead, The Yankees can do it !!!!!

Discussion by: MHarris on Wed, 2009-11-04 11:09 with 0 comments

The Yankees so far have been the most surprising team since the Minnesota Vikings of this year. After missing the playoffs in 2008 they have made it to the World Series this year. They have spent a lot of money to get the players that they have now and now they have a 3-2 lead and need one more win to capture their 27th World Series title. Can they do it? many people think they can but some say they can't because they decided to start with a 3 man rotation throughout the playoffs. Tonight's game features 2 veterans that have been in the game for a long time. Andy Pettitte will get the ball for the Yankees and Pedro Martinez will get the ball for the Philies. Hopefully the Yankees come out on top and finish up in there own ball park. They have the stuff and I think that they can finish it tonight.

GO YANKEES

Yankees and World Series

Will the Yankees get to the World Series?

I have always wondered why the Yankees suffered when ever they got to the playoffs. They get there but they never finish it. I get angry but I always trust in them and I know that hey will make it. On Sunday they clinched the AL East and they basically put hope back in the hearts of many Yankee fans like myself. They have also added new players on their team and payed a lot of money to do it. They have the biggest payroll and they can pretty much do that. These players have all contributed to the success of the Yankees. Mark Texiera, Nick Swisher, CC Sabathia, and AJ Burnett. These players have made the Yankees a great team.

With the Highest Payroll the Yankees should be able to make there team better for years to come.

"Not surprisingly, the Yankees come out on top, spending $169 million for those 15 critical positions".

What I'm good at

What I noticed most about" In an Arizona Town, Main St is a Border Crossing" was that all the people there knew was work. Work was basically there life. They worked for long hours. These people were dedicated to working.

When the podcaster said" We are working form two in the morning until four in the afternoon". He was referring to the lady that wakes up early to serve the workers that wake up to work. I was thinking that a lot of us take having a job for granted but these people take these things serious. I think this is bravery because I don't think that I can work that early for a little money. That would be very tiring to me.

Another part that I found interesting to me was" You can see people all outside to walking, all wet, all dirty, coming late. Yeah because you're working 14-16 hours a day. This stood out for me because usually you have Americans working 9 to 5 or even not working at all but these people take going to work so serious. It goes to show that they really need the money they are getting.
