In the first picture, I manually changed the temperature of the picture to be colder, therefore more blue-ish but also darker, changing the mood of the picture from a simple picture of a house, into this haunted mansion mood. I think the second picture is more interesting to look at than the first one, because I actually imagine a scenario happening, whereas in the first one I only see a regular picture.

I choose to work with this picture, because it contains many different picture within itself. Out of all the choices I had, I decided to work with the panel in the back because it is not the first thing visible to us at first, and I liked the trees surrounding it. The ray of light going through the tree also is a big plus I enjoyed playing with when I changed the saturation and the temperature of the picture. I had the choice between having a picture with warmer color or colder color (blueish picture). I like the warmer colors because it made me think of spring and it emphasize the ray of sunlight going through the tree.

This is a picture of my grandparents, at my great cousin's wedding in 1999. At the time this picture was taken, I was 4 years old. Nobody knew that a month after that my sister would be born.

Because the picture was getting old and fading away, I used picnik.com to retouch the picture. First I cropped and rotate the picture, then I boosted the colors, change the exposure and contrast and used the before/after effect on pickin to get this collage. I showed the picture to my grandparents again, and they too agree that they like the picture even more now that I gave the missing colors back to the picture.

I took this picture on the 4th of July at Battery Park.
What I like abou thi spicture is the sunlight on the side, which I think emphasize the trees and the place, making different. I also like the three persons that are under the tree. You can't notice them at first, you have to look longer at the picture to notice them and I think it also makes a difference. There's also reflects and shadows because of the sunlights, which is what I like to work with in my pictures.

The (Shiny) Garden

I took this picture this Summer 2010, when I was at my grandparent's house in the South of France. This picture represents a part of the garden surrounding their house. I don't usually like the garden, especially this (very) little pathway surrounded by trees that are inhabited by all kinds of animals and insects, but when I came home that day I had to stop and take a picture of this. Why? Because at that moment, the garden didn't seem like a place full of insects. The dark pathway and the sun enlightening the flowers in the middle felt magical to me and I really wanted to enjoy this moment and making it last for more than a second.
