What I learned about income inequality

Discussion by: ALopez on Fri, 2015-06-05 14:46 with 0 comments

Income inequality is having a small part of the population earning a lot and a huge part of the population earning so little bit of money. There is a huge gap between these two group of people.

What causes income inequality?
Income inequality is caused by people not knowing nothing howto fix it and put it to work. Poor people cannot go up levels because society wouldn’t let them and rich people taking advantage of poor people .

The interview

The interview was really interesting to me, I learned a lot from a person that has experience a lot of problems trying to live in minimum wage.

I felt prepared before the interview, but during the interview I wished I had more questions.

I think that if I had more questions that would help me get different information about the same topic would of been really helpful.

Living under minimum wage

I selected Mayra Canchola who has worked under minimum wage since she was attending high school. She is now attending college and is still working under minimum wage and she is also supporting her family. I decided to interview Mayra Canchola because as I was talking to her one day I realize how hard her situation was. I decided to ask Mayra Canchola some questions to make sure she was a good candidate and asked her is she was willing to do the interview.

Some question I would like to use in the interview are:

1.Was your first job a minimum wage job?

Living by minimum wage

The project is about how minimum wage affects people’s lifestyle. The way they feel when they have to live while earning minimum wage and having to survive with it supporting a family.

This project make us go out the classroom and interview a person that is living in minimum wage or was living in minimum wage for at least 6 months, and that they are supporting a family or was supporting a family. Then we have to type it word per word and turn it in.

The novels Things Fall Apart and Cry, The Beloved Country both have allusion, analogy and imagery to illustrate the theme of how new religion affects native traditions over time.

Senior Research (Working) Thesis

It has taken me a while to figure out a thesis I could research about the rest of my senior year. There is a problem with the gap of wealthy people who have access to energy more so than low income people. Low-income people do not have access to solar energy, but a possible solution to this problem would be grant programs that give these people that access. I am impacted and disappointed at the same time with the information I am finding. This is why I decided to talk about it and find solutions because it is going to be great for the community and it will improve the future.

A Mother’s Love

One night, a couple was traveling on by car from Oakland to LA when at a far distance they saw a woman in the middle of the road, waving at them.

The wife told her husband to keep driving because it might be too dangerous, but the husband decided to pass by slowly so he wouldn’t stay with the doubt on his mind of what might have happened and the chances of anyone being hurt. As they got closer, they noticed a woman with cuts and bruises on her face as well as on her arms. They then decided to stop and see if they could be of any help.

I felt tired but free after I wrote my (TIED) analysis paragraphs for “Interpreter of Maladies”, I was tired because I work on it for a long time and free because i was DONE with it.
As a writer i feel that i need improvement but I am going to work for it. I also think that all this works are going to pay off and it’s going to help me become a better writer.
As a writer i want to improve the way I put my words, I think that im better at talking than writing. I also get lost in my writing or confuse. I’m looking forward to improve as a writer.

New ways of forming energy

I'm a senior at Fremont High School, and this year my senior project is going to be about the new ways of forming energy. Also how unfair is for people with low income to not be able to enjoy this new forms of energy. I want to show the benefits of changing to solar energy and why it should be a require for people to change from electricity to solar energy. I’m really interesting in this topic because I feel like we need to save the world and stop the global warming for us and for our future people.
