My First Electronic Game

Discussion by: 16wanga on Wed, 2011-11-16 18:31 with 0 comments

Last Thursday, November 10th, my Technology class and I were introduced to the making of the game Pong. Obviously we all knew the simple game, since it is one of the most basic games known to gamers worldwide. It's the typical online game of ping pong, there's a ball and a paddle. The paddle is usually controlled by the player's mouse. As soon as the game starts, the ball will start bouncing around the screen. The objective of the game is to hit the ball with the paddle, keeping it away from the "danger zone" on the bottom.

My Scratch Three Act Play

I made my first three act play on the program, Scratch, today. I think the process went fairly well, even though it was pretty frustrating at times. I actually started off with a different story plot in my head, but I ended up changing it for some reason. I think the hardest part was that I drew everything! The backgrounds and "actors" were all hand-drawn by me (which was kind of why it took me 1 1/2 days to do this). I think I made the story pretty unique (because time-traveling is something that doesn't happen everyday).

The 9.0 earthquake in Japan devastated the people of Japan, even though it has been 3 months; the effect of that earthquake could last forever. This date is now known worldwide, and we should try to help these people in need. Many have lost their homes, families, loved ones, and lives. They will never look at life the same way ever again. Even though it seems like we can not be that big of a help, we actually can be. Obviously we aren't superheroes that can save the world, but that doesn't mean the little things we do won't make a change :)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/flyingsinger/86898565/The earthquake in Japan has effected everyone around the world, emotionally and now physcially. According to scientists, Japan's earthquake was so strong that it shifted the Earth's balance! The 9.0 magnitude earthquake caused Japan to move about 13 feet towards North America.

I was looking through Quakestories the other day, and just reading them made me wish I could do something to help.
One story that caught my attention the most was by a girl named Amy M., who goes to the International S

Love: Heart vs. Mind

Love, such a strong word that is so commonly used today. True love is timeless, endless, and has no beginning date or expiration date; it's special.

I've been thinking lately, and one big part of love is the big conflict between the heart and the mind.

You can think of the mind as the devil, and the heart as the angel. They're always having conflict against each other, always trying to prove to the other that he/she is right.
